Student answer (Band 5.5)

Nowadays major cities in the world are facin a challanges of large number of towards city areas for many reason. The best way to provide homes in large cities is to build tall apartments blocks. I am agree with this statement.

At the beginning, most big cities of many countries are facing problems, one out which is providing enough homes to public. However, many idividuals across the country try to migrate to big cities to get better jobs, health as will education facilities, which lead to over crowd the area and its become difficult achieve or provide resources especially accomudation. Moreover, to overcome this issue goverment or property deallers shoulg have construct tall buildings which cover less land area but provide aparments to peoples, instead of contructing single stories house which cover more area also the money. Futhermore, this procees save land and also provide homes to many individuals at ecomical prices as compared to biulding own home.

For instance, when i was moved to city for my higher studies, at start I was lived in a hotel room for 3 months and i was paid 7000 pkr rent per month. However, when i shifted college hostle I had only 2000 rent which was financially beneficial for me because we lived three students in a room, as will as it also provide me oppertunity to discus my study activities with them.

In conclusion to this, it more better and easy option to provide shelters to peoples in major cities is to construct high flats which are easy to purchase for everyone easpecially for low low income groups.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes, and you give relevant reasons, including using less land and making accommodation more affordable. The example about moving from a hotel to a college hostel also illustrates the financial benefit of shared housing. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the main argument is not fully developed: explain more clearly why high-rise construction is preferable to other solutions, and support the claim that it is the best approach. The personal example shows the value of low-cost shared accommodation, but does not directly demonstrate the benefits of tall apartment blocks. The response meets the stated length requirement; the eight words copied from the prompt are excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph explaining the housing problem and proposed solution, a personal example, and a conclusion. Linking expressions such as “Moreover,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help signal the stages of the argument. However, progression within the main paragraph is sometimes difficult to follow, particularly where migration, overcrowding, land use, and cost are combined in long sentences. Some connections are also mechanical or unclear: “However” does not clearly contrast with the preceding point, and “as will as” makes the relationship between benefits hard to understand. To improve, give each paragraph a clear central point and use references and transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “accommodation,” “overcrowd,” “land area,” “financially beneficial,” and “low income groups,” so the reader can understand the general argument. However, the range is limited and several spelling, word-form, and collocation errors make the writing less clear or natural. Examples include “a challanges,” “idividuals,” “accomudation,” and “economical prices”; phrases such as “provide homes to peoples” and “construct high flats” are also awkward. Aim to learn accurate collocations for housing and urban growth, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise expressions would help you explain affordability, housing supply, and land use without relying on repeated general words such as “provide” and “homes.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, for example the clause beginning “However, many individuals…” and the sentence explaining that tall buildings “cover less land area but provide apartments.” This shows an effort to connect causes and results. However, attempts at longer structures are often faulty, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction can make the reader pause. Examples include “I am agree,” “when I was moved,” “I was lived,” and “it more better.” There are also problems with plural and determiner patterns, as in “a challanges” and “single stories house.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed subordinate clause, then check tense and subject–verb agreement.
