Student answer (Band 5.0)

This time around, there is an innovative concept of providing sufficient homes in large urban areas, it consist the construction of high apartment blocks. My percepective will be discuss in the following paragraph detailing while i sustain to a certain point the idea of building tall apartment.

First of all, as time goes by, more opportunuities are created in the urban areas which leads to increase in population and consiquently the demand of logging increase to, for instance more jobs are created in large cities and needs employers that are living nearby to also ease the transport issues. so if the population increase and the terretory does not it is relevant and obvious to build appartment on one another so as to logg all new immigrant.

It true that this construction may leads to pollution and traffic congestion. For instance during construction ther may be so much dust and this can lead to some illness

However for me it remains the best option.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You take a position, saying you support tall apartments “to a certain point,” and give a relevant reason: urban jobs attract people while available land is limited. However, the response addresses the question only partially. The position is not fully explained, and the brief mention of pollution and traffic is not developed into a clear counterargument or weighed against the benefits. The example about construction dust and illness is also not connected clearly to whether high-rise housing is the best solution. The response is 163 words, below the required 250, so it has too little space to develop reasons and examples. Explain your degree of agreement directly, then support each main point with a specific example and explanation.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is a basic attempt to organise the response: an opening introduces the issue, “First of all” signals a reason, and “However” introduces a qualification before the conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of the intended direction. However, the overall progression is limited, with only one developed supporting point and a very brief counterpoint. Some links are unclear or mechanical; for example, “so if the population increase and the terretory does not” does not clearly state what remains unchanged, and the final “However” does not explain how the disadvantages affect your position. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and counterargument, and make each transition show the precise relationship between ideas.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “urban areas,” “population,” “demand,” “transport issues,” and “traffic congestion,” so the subject is generally identifiable. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make parts difficult to understand: “logging” appears to mean housing or accommodation, “logg all new immigrant” is unclear, and “terretory” and “opportunuities” are misspelled. Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “construction of high apartment blocks” and “needs employers that are living nearby.” Build a more precise housing vocabulary and check spelling. For example, use “accommodate new residents” rather than “logg all new immigrant,” and “high-rise apartment buildings” rather than “high apartment blocks.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect sentence beginning “as time goes by” and a conditional structure with “if the population increase.” These attempts show some range, but errors are frequent and sometimes make relationships difficult to follow. Examples include “it consist,” “My percepective will be discuss,” “which leads to increase,” and “It true that this construction may leads,” where verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction are not controlled. Capitalisation and punctuation also need attention, particularly the lowercase “so” after a full stop and the long opening sentence joined by commas. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and divide complex ideas into shorter, complete sentences before adding more complex structures.
