Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is widely acknowledged that people think transforming large building can overcome the problem of accommodation. According to my prospective it is benificial devlopment. So, I largely agree with this notion owing to resolve the problem of conjection as well as parking. In the forthcoming paragraphs, I will explain both the points.

There are several compelling reasons, yet land shortage is major one. To accentuate it, due to higher devlopment multiple land is covered by companies and shopes, large number of people travelling to big cities for multiple oppourtunities so, residential land is limited which is only cover by making tall apartments. For instance, due to soaring number of individual Gillco decided to invest more in skyscappers buildings. Thus, accomodation shortage will be solved. Moreover, due to traffic and other things, land for parking is negligible, so it will be intoduced under the building, people will start using parkings and that will reduce the traffic on road due to parked cars on the street, along with reduce accidents.

On the contrary, void with neighbours and less access to sunlight. In other words, in tall buildings there are to many flats under singal roof which may effects ones relation with neighbour, new born feel less society connectivity due to that, moral values which are gainned by society will be less.Furthermore explaing, sunlight will be limited in aparmemts due to covering areas due to another buldings. Thus, It may negatively affect people's lives .

On the way to conclusion, although it will make people less connected with other, yet it will resolved the problem of accomodation for people coming from another states.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you largely agree that tall apartment blocks can help address housing shortages, and you give relevant reasons, especially limited land and the possibility of providing parking beneath buildings. The Gillco example also attempts to support your point. You address the opposing side by mentioning reduced neighbourly connection and limited sunlight, then return to your overall view. However, some ideas are less fully explained than others. For example, the link between parking in apartment buildings and reducing traffic or accidents needs clearer reasoning, and the social drawbacks are asserted rather than illustrated. Develop each main point with a specific explanation or example, and make the comparison between the benefits and drawbacks more explicit.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting tall buildings, a paragraph presenting disadvantages, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow your general position. You also use signposting such as “For instance,” “Moreover,” and “On the contrary.” However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “In the forthcoming paragraphs, I will explain both the points” does not add much, while “On the contrary, void with neighbours and less access to sunlight” is not a complete, clear topic sentence. Some ideas are crowded together, particularly the discussion of land use, parking, and traffic. Use clearer topic sentences, divide related points logically, and make references such as “that” or “it” unambiguous.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary suited to the topic, including “land shortage,” “soaring number,” “skyscrapers,” and “accommodation shortage.” These choices show an effort to discuss urban housing beyond very basic terms. However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the reader pause: “conjection,” “benificial,” “devlopment,” and “void with neighbours” are examples. Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “multiple land is covered by companies” and “people will start using parkings.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. A more controlled set of terms—such as “urban land,” “residential development,” and “parking facilities”—would make your argument clearer and more precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You use both simple statements and attempts at longer, complex sentences, for example the sentence beginning “large number of people travelling to big cities” and the contrast introduced by “although.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, several sentences contain grammatical errors that make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. Examples include “large number of people travelling” without a complete clause, “which is only cover,” and “it will resolved the problem.” There are also problems with articles, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “there are to many flats under singal roof” and “will be solved.Moreover.” Practise building complete clauses and checking verb forms, agreement, and punctuation, while keeping complex sentences manageable.
