Student answer (Band 5.0)
There is an ongoing debate about whether it is important to build enough homes in large cities by build up more tall apartment blocks and on the other side some think about that this method is not useful at all. I agree with that statement because of several reasons that mention below.
Firstly, according to my opinion if we facilitate or construct various apartments for people then they settle down in big urban areas as compared to rural because they get benificial advantages related to educational fields. For instance,if our government are in favor of the policies that related to big cities settlements in the shape of two to three storeys building than the large amount of our population get easily settle with their families without facing any emotional and financial crises.
Secondly, the other reason is that to provide large amount of homes in various cities due to our population considerably increase day by day. For example, in my country our economy face various problems that related to financial condition of every person. Although, majority of our country point out several difficulties
like they provide better environment to their children that not possible in rural areas. So they continuesly moved towards big cities to overcome the issue that they face on daily basis of their life.
In conclusion, I believe that if we develope our cities in the shape of tall storeys apartments that also fully furnished for the users than every citizen of our country easily get a chance to facilitate their family members without any trouble about them.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5
Your position is stated clearly: “I agree with that statement,” and the response gives two reasons related to urban opportunities and rising population. However, the discussion only partially answers the question because it does not explain convincingly why tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes. The first example shifts to two- or three-storey buildings, which does not support the specific proposal of tall blocks, while the second focuses mainly on people moving to cities and economic difficulties. These points need clearer links to housing supply, such as how high-rise construction accommodates more households on limited land. Develop each reason with a relevant, specific example and explain its connection to your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps readers identify the main stages of the argument. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first moves from apartment construction to educational advantages and then to two- or three-storey buildings, without showing how these points connect. The second combines population growth, economic problems, rural conditions and migration in a way that is difficult to follow. Some linking phrases, such as “Although,” do not clearly express the relationship between the ideas that follow. Organise each paragraph around one reason, then explain and illustrate it in a logical sequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “urban areas,” “population,” “financial condition” and “fully furnished,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations make the argument less clear, such as “facilitate or construct various apartments,” “beneficial advantages” and “tall storeys apartments.” Spelling errors such as “benificial,” “continuesly” and “develope” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise housing vocabulary and natural combinations, for example, “build high-rise apartment blocks,” “increase housing capacity” and “accommodate residents.” Avoid repeating broad terms such as “various” and “problems”; choose words that specify the point you mean.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including conditional structures such as “if we facilitate or construct various apartments … then they settle down.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Examples include “by build up,” “our government are,” “our economy face,” and “they continuesly moved,” which show problems with verb forms, subject–verb agreement and tense. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “in various cities due to our population considerably increase” and the run-on spacing around “areas.So.” Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea, checking agreement and verb forms, then add subordinate clauses once the basic structure is secure.
