Student answer (Band 5.0)
In today,s world the people population is rising day by day. While with rising population there comes a need of peoples which includes food, place and Jobs.
So, I agree because the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. Firstly, building an apartment blocks in larger cities help in spaces and good for environment. As apartment blocks help people live with family member and also it does not affect spaces in larger cities. As in my city the governement has take action nowadays about illegal apartments and people are very confused about this decision, as governement has started a new society where every building contains five apartments blocks, which would help people in their accomodations rather than living out of city. As it would help people living outside city and there livings are far-away from their jobs, which would help them live near in larger cities rather than living outside.
Howover, on other side it has large affect on bigger families to live in apartments blocks, which would affect there livings in larger cities, because if apartment has much space to live while a family needs bigger it would direct affect peoples lives and would rised problems. The governement can take positive initiative to solve
such problems of people living and it would have bigger affect on larger families. So, the reason i agree with above statement is that its positive affect to build tall apartment blocks, but a governement should play a positive role in this to make people living experience comfortable, which would makes good role in societies like larger cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks can help provide homes, and you give relevant reasons, including making better use of city space and locating residents nearer to work. The example of the government’s housing initiative also supports your argument. However, the response addresses the issue only partially because the counterpoint about larger families is difficult to follow and is not weighed clearly against your main position. Several claims, such as the environmental benefit, are asserted rather than explained with a specific reason or example. Develop each main point by explaining how it increases housing supply and why you still consider it outweighed by the disadvantages.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, a supporting paragraph and a contrasting paragraph, and signposts such as “Firstly” and “However” show an attempt to organise the argument. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear: the first body paragraph moves from saving space to a government policy and then to commuting without clearly linking these points. The final paragraph repeats the agreement rather than drawing the reasoning together, and the unfinished phrase “solve such problems” interrupts the flow. Some references, including “it” and “there,” are unclear. Give each paragraph one central idea, connect examples explicitly to it, and use a concise conclusion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “larger cities,” “accommodations” and “illegal apartments,” so the reader can identify the subject. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “larger cities,” “affect” and “people.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “people population,” “help in spaces,” “large affect” and “positive affect”; these make parts of the argument harder to understand. Spelling errors such as “governement,” “accomodations” and “Howover” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise range for discussing housing density, affordability and access to work, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional idea about families needing more space. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, plurals and sentence boundaries sometimes make meaning difficult to follow. For example, “building an apartment blocks … help” has mismatched number and verb agreement, while “the governement has take action” uses an incorrect verb form. In “if apartment has much space to live while a family needs bigger,” the clause structure does not express the intended contrast clearly. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly formed subordinate clause, then check subject–verb agreement and verb forms.
