Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you state that you “totally agree,” and the response gives relevant reasons, including access to transport and services and potentially lower rents. However, the task is only partly addressed because the reasons are asserted more than explained, and the link between tall apartment blocks and providing enough homes is not developed. For example, the paragraph about facilities focuses on residents’ convenience rather than how high-rise construction increases housing supply. The point about affordable rent also needs support or a concrete example. The conclusion is unfinished (“by promoting”), which leaves your final idea incomplete. The response is 12 words below the required minimum; develop the main arguments and complete the conclusion to meet the task fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Another benefits,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify your main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from transport and education to socialising and mental exhaustion without explaining the connections. Linking phrases such as “Additionally” and “Moreover” are used, but they often add another claim rather than show how ideas relate. The conclusion repeats earlier points and then stops mid-sentence. To improve, organise each paragraph around one central reason, explain it in a clear sequence, and use referencing and transitions to make the relationships between claims explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “public transport,” “accommodation,” and “urban areas,” and you attempt less common expressions such as “productivity” and “social zone.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand, such as “plant tall apartment blocks,” “availability of facilities” as the cause of housing shortages, and “get the abundant of skills.” Spelling errors—including “facilites,” “exagrated,” and “effectivness”—also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise housing-related language and check spelling carefully. Replacing vague or unnatural phrases with standard collocations will make your arguments clearer and more convincing.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “since” and “which,” and most of the main ideas remain understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction occur regularly. For example, “the shortage of house is becoming” has a singular/plural mismatch, while “it provide” does not agree with its subject. “Another benefits” also has incorrect number agreement, and “the lifestyle of resident” needs a plural or determiner. Some punctuation spacing is inconsistent, and the final sentence is incomplete. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and noun forms, and make sure each sentence has a complete grammatical structure before adding more complex clauses.
