Student answer (Band 6.0)
People believe that the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is by building tall apartments. I completely agree with this statement because, it ensures to save land areas and convenient for a largely populated areas for accomodating people.
One major reason is that, number of people who live in meteropolitan cities is much more higher than the people who live under the municipal coroporation or villages. Because of the high population concern within a small piece of land there would be a lack of accomodation for the common people as they were no free land to build houses. For Instance, in a area of 1 cent around 10 houses can be built same area in case of apartment could accomodate more that 14 floors nearly 70 houses which would be a benefit for the people who are living in a crowded population. As a result, large number of people can be accomodated within a small area.
Another important reason is that, by people accomodating in the apartment there will be reduction in the deforestation of the trees in the large cities and also people would not disturb any water bodies in purpose of building houses. This means that, people who are living in cities nowadays, cut down the areas where trees are there and make the land as flats to put it on for sales. And some people would sell the land nearby waterbodies which would lead to disaster such as flood during the rainy days. For example, people who live in Chennai, had occupied all the lands around the Keelambakam river, due to that in rainy season the flooded water started to come inside the living areas. Therefore, people would be encouraged to live in apartments which would reduce these kind of calamities.
In conclusion, apartment provide people a vast area for shelter and it is eco friendly in large populated cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: “I completely agree,” and the essay gives two relevant reasons—using less land to house more people and reducing pressure to build on green or flood-prone areas. The numerical comparison between houses on a small plot and apartments, followed by the Chennai example, helps make the argument concrete. This fully addresses the main question, with some of the development and support expected at a stronger level. However, the environmental point is not always clearly linked to tall blocks specifically, and the conclusion mainly repeats the benefits rather than drawing the argument together. Explain more precisely how high-rise construction would protect land and water bodies, and qualify broad claims with clear reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction states your view, two body paragraphs present separate reasons, and a conclusion restates your position. Signposts such as “One major reason,” “Another important reason,” and “For example” help readers follow the progression. However, some linking is mechanical, and several sentences are joined or introduced in ways that interrupt the flow. For instance, “Because of the high population…” is a fragment after the preceding sentence, while repeated “This means that” and “Therefore” links do not always clarify the relationship between claims. References such as “these kind of calamities” are also broad. Use fewer formulaic transitions and make each sentence’s connection to the previous idea explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “population,” “accommodation,” “deforestation,” “water bodies,” and “flood.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “crowded population” and “municipal corporation.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “meteropolitan,” “coroporation,” and “accomodating” are misspelled, while “much more higher” and “put it on for sales” are awkward expressions. Some key words, especially “people,” “land,” and “houses,” are repeated frequently. Build precision by learning common combinations such as “accommodate residents” and “urban population,” and check spelling carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional-style comparison and clauses introduced by “which” and “because.” The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but control is uneven: some complex sentences are faulty, and errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and verb forms recur. For example, “Because of the high population… there would be a lack” is separated from the sentence it depends on, and “apartment provide” lacks subject–verb agreement. In “people who live in meteropolitan cities is,” the plural subject does not agree with “is.” Practise building complete sentences around one main clause, then check agreement and articles. More accurate control of these structures would make your reasoning easier to follow.
