Student answer (Band 5.5)

As with the rise in inflation and needs for better paychecks and better lifestyle people prefer to live in cities migrating from rural areas. With this rising trend a problem is also seen which is accomodation. i will provide my best views as per my understanding regarding this.

To commence with, as in the rise with inflation people have a liking to move towards for cities for better oppotunities for making better source of making money. If this activity happens on a big scale an "accomodiation crisis" of scaresity can be seen in people. To help resolve this problem some people belive a better approach would be to opt for multistorey building.

In my views it is a brilliant ideas but also comes with some few cons, to examplify this not only help people in giving a place to live but also help to save space to build new homes. Apart from that living in a shared society also come with certain perks such as avaliablity of local shops, along with a clean ambience and additionaly low rents.

On the paradoxical side, this come with some crucial problems too such as if there's a cut down of power supply or water, that whole shared society suffers through these problems not only that usually as if people prefer to buy a apartment by himself it could affect their bank balance due to rising prices of real estate.

Eventually i totally agree with the thinking of living in tall apartment but it also comes with some few drawbacks to consider before relocation.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You give a clear overall position in the conclusion—“i totally agree”—and address both the benefits and drawbacks of tall apartment blocks. Relevant points include saving space, providing homes, and the risk that a power or water failure could affect many residents. However, the response only partly develops the task: it does not explain why tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes compared with alternatives, and several claims, such as lower rents and a “clean ambience,” are asserted without explanation or examples. The opening also spends time on inflation and migration without establishing a focused argument. To strengthen the response, explain each main point and support it with a specific example, while keeping the comparison with other housing approaches central.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting advantages, a paragraph on disadvantages, and a concluding position. Linking phrases such as “To commence with,” “Apart from that,” and “On the paradoxical side” help signal the direction of the discussion. However, some transitions feel formulaic, and the progression within paragraphs is not always clear. For example, the first body paragraph moves from inflation and city migration to a housing crisis and then to multistorey buildings without fully connecting the steps. The long sentence beginning “In my views” also combines several benefits without clear separation. Use more direct topic sentences and clearer sentence boundaries, and make references such as “this” and “these problems” explicitly identify their subject.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “accommodation crisis,” “multistorey building,” “real estate,” and “power supply.” These choices show an effort to discuss housing and urban living, but the range is limited and errors in spelling, word form, and collocation are noticeable. Examples include “scaresity” for “scarcity,” “accomodiation,” “oppotunities,” and “avaliablity.” Some phrases are also unnatural or unclear, such as “better source of making money,” “shared society,” and “buy a apartment by himself.” These issues sometimes make the reader pause to interpret your meaning. Build a bank of accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; prefer precise expressions such as “employment opportunities” and “apartment complex.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer and more complex sentences, including the contrast between advantages and disadvantages, and your meaning is generally recoverable. However, the range is limited, and complex constructions are often faulty. For instance, “people have a liking to move towards for cities” has an unclear grammatical pattern, while “living in a shared society also come” has subject–verb disagreement. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention: “buy a apartment” and the opening run-on sentence make the writing less controlled. Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including lowercase “i” and several sentences joined by commas. Aim for shorter, complete sentences first, then add subordinate clauses only when you can control their structure, agreement, and punctuation.
