Student answer (Band 6.0)
Building a tall apartment blocks in urban areas is a best way to give homes to people. It is argued that construction of vertical buildings saves space in large and busy cities but I disagree that this is the only best approach.
On the one hand, people lving in huge metropolitan areas, a sustainable and own place to live is a foremost requirement. To meet this necessity housing socities are planning to construct tall buildings because of limited and expensive land. This plan allows the constructors to adjust the large number of population in a confine place rather than to spread the individuals at a maximum space of earth. Moreover, high rise neighborhood make it far more easier and cost effective for muncipal governments to provide essential utilities and services. For example, public routes, waste management, sewage system and electrical facilities centralized around these dense zone rather than to supply all these over a grand spread land.
However, depending only on high rise building creates alot of issues of economics and construction. As people living in these busy apartments creates cardiac issues as no filter air. Another reason people living in crowded spaces can lead to psychological strain due to lack of green and natural areas, which often reduces the overall quality of life for residents.
In conclusion,Instead of focusing only on tall buildings officials should also focus on reconstruction of old grounded buildings or also keep in mind to conserve the natural environment for healthy living. There is a capital need to balance the urban model of living with the necessary needs of individuals, so that they can save their health along with their pocket.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you recognise the space-saving benefits of high-rise housing but disagree that it is the only or best approach. The response addresses both sides and gives relevant reasons, including easier provision of utilities and possible effects on residents’ health and wellbeing. These points support the task, but some are less fully developed than others. The example about municipal services is specific, while the claims about cardiac problems and psychological strain are asserted without explanation or evidence. The conclusion proposes renovating older buildings and protecting nature, but does not explain how these measures would provide enough homes. Develop each main point with a clear explanation or example, and connect your alternative directly to the housing shortage and your degree of agreement.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, a paragraph presenting benefits, a contrasting paragraph, and a conclusion. The progression from the advantages of density to its drawbacks is easy to follow, and signposts such as “On the one hand,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This is a strong foundation, with some effective linking of ideas, such as the explanation of how concentrated services can be easier to provide. To make the organisation more fluent, avoid relying mainly on formulaic transitions and improve links within paragraphs. For instance, the health and green-space concerns could be connected through a clearer explanation of how dense development affects residents. Punctuation around transitions and sentence boundaries also occasionally interrupts the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “vertical buildings,” “limited and expensive land,” “essential utilities,” and “psychological strain.” These choices show an effort to discuss urban planning beyond basic terms. However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less natural: “housing socities,” “a confine place,” “no filter air,” and “a grand spread land” are examples. Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “a capital need,” where the intended meaning appears to be an urgent or significant need. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. Using precise terms such as “high-rise apartments,” “confined space,” and “green spaces” would make your ideas clearer and more idiomatic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrast clause beginning “but I disagree” and a reason clause introduced by “because.” Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “people living in these busy apartments creates” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “As people living in these busy apartments creates cardiac issues” is an incomplete and awkwardly structured sentence. Articles and number are also inconsistent in “a tall apartment blocks” and “a best way.” Review sentence construction, agreement, and article use, and punctuate sentence openings such as “In conclusion” correctly. Building more accurate complex sentences will help you express the relationships between causes, effects, and examples.
