Student answer (Band 5.5)
Tall apartments are the best approach in larger citiies to provide sufficient homes i partially agree with this because it may provide shleter to many people and make thier life easier but at the same time high rises are generally considers unsfae to raise childdren.
It is widely argued that, tall apartments are the best way to provide people more shelter. It provides people an opportunity to interact with other people and such builidngs are usually near the public sectors such as hospitals and government offices. It saves their time without any traffic congestion isuues. Secondly, vertical apartments save alot of land dozens of people can accomodate in a singles buliding. For example, in my country there are alot of hostels near educational institutes it helps students to recah on time.
On the other hand, childern are always at risk in high rises.Similary, if the infrastructure of building is not very sturdy it will not be able to stand with natural phenomenas such as earthquake and lighening. Another, issue with such startegy is that sometimes, people dont try to fit they are just continuosly blaming each other despite the fact that they are living in same place. It is also difficult to evacuate a larges number of people in emergency situations.
In nutshell, building tall apartments is the best way to accomodate people becuse it will help them to socialize and also help them to reach hospitals and other governments places on time. Moreover, it is not safe for children and can cause alot of disaster in emergency situations.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You give a relevant, partly agreeing position and discuss benefits and drawbacks of tall apartment blocks. The points about using less land, locating homes near services, and difficulties during emergencies address the question. However, the position is not fully consistent: the introduction says you “partially agree,” while the conclusion calls tall apartments “the best way” without clearly qualifying that view. Several ideas are asserted rather than explained—for example, the claim that high-rises are unsafe for children and the point about residents blaming one another need clearer reasoning or a specific example. Develop the strongest arguments and explain why they affect whether this is the best solution, while briefly acknowledging other housing approaches if relevant.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting tall apartments, a paragraph presenting disadvantages, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “Secondly” and “On the other hand” help signal the shift between sides. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes abrupt, and some links are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “Another, issue” does not smoothly introduce the evacuation point, while the sentence about residents blaming one another is not clearly connected to the main argument about housing provision. The conclusion repeats earlier points rather than resolving the contrast between benefits and risks. Use clearer topic sentences and explain the relationship between each supporting detail and the paragraph’s main idea.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “vertical apartments,” “infrastructure,” “evacuate,” and “emergency situations,” which helps communicate the main ideas. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to interpret. “Public sectors” is unclear for the intended meaning, and “stand with natural phenomenas” is not a natural way to describe a building resisting hazards. Spelling errors such as “citiies,” “shleter,” and “accomodate” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of housing and urban-planning terms, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Prefer familiar, accurate expressions over ambitious phrases whose meaning is uncertain.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if the infrastructure of building is not very sturdy…” and a contrast introduced by “but.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence boundaries, agreement, articles, and punctuation sometimes make the reader work to follow the meaning. The opening runs several clauses together without clear punctuation, and “It provides people an opportunity” has an unclear subject reference. There are also patterns such as “dozens of people can accomodate” and “it will not be able to stand,” where the sentence structure or verb pattern is faulty. Practise separating complete ideas and checking subject–verb relationships, articles, and clause construction.
