Student answer (Band 6.0)
In large cities, best solution for providing sufficient homes is to construct large apartments. In my point of view, I completely agree with the given statement and in this essay, I am going to discuss the same with some valid and pertaining examples.
Previously, people have been building individual villas in the cities. But, nowadays it has become over crowded and resulted in scarcity of house. Moreover, acoomodation has become a difficult task for people living in the metropolitan cities. For instance, most Multi National Companies are located in the cities, as a result large amount of people migrate to cities and resource is being shared. Due to the increased population in the cities, it is hard for people to find accomodation. Thus, apartments has devastated and eradicated the accomodation problem in the cities.
Nowadays, apartments are tranformed into gated communites, where residents have enough facilities inside their community. For example, a typical apartment-community can accomodate more than 500 families and the need for going out side the apartment is very less. They celebrate festivals together and also help each other in unfavourable situations. Thus, apartments not only accomodates large population, but also foster to create community bond among them.
In conclusion, accomodation crisis of cities are resolved by building more apartments and also help the people to build communities. Although, large apartments are not sustainable for future in terms of infrastructure, but they provide a temporary solution for housing crisis in the cities. If government and housing authorities ensure the quality of buildings, then it would captivate more people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that apartment blocks are the best response to housing shortages. You give relevant reasons, including urban migration for work and the ability of apartment communities to house many families. The example of a community accommodating over 500 families helps illustrate your point. However, some ideas are not fully explained: the claim that apartments have “eradicated” the accommodation problem is too absolute, and the conclusion introduces concerns about sustainability and infrastructure without developing them. To strengthen the response, explain why tall blocks are preferable to other possible solutions, such as building outward, and support your qualification about their long-term limits with a specific reason or example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs with distinct supporting points, and a conclusion. The progression from housing scarcity to community benefits is easy to follow, and linking phrases such as “For instance,” “Moreover,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and also shows some flexibility in connecting examples to claims. At times, however, the links feel mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “Thus,” and some references are unclear, as in “apartments has devastated and eradicated the accommodation problem.” Improve cohesion by varying transitions and making each sentence’s subject and connection to the previous point explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “scarcity,” “metropolitan cities,” “gated communities,” and “infrastructure.” These choices show an effort to use language beyond basic housing terms. However, noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision, for example “acoomodation,” “tranformed,” and “communit[e]s,” as well as awkward combinations such as “foster to create community bond” and “captivate more people.” Some expressions are also too strong or imprecise: saying apartments have “eradicated” the problem overstates the point. Proofread spelling and learn common collocations as complete phrases; this will make your vocabulary more accurate and natural while preserving the range you are attempting.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses introduced by “where,” “as a result,” and “although.” Most of the meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “apartments has” and “apartments not only accomodates” have subject–verb agreement errors, while “large amount of people” needs a plural form. Articles and sentence construction also need attention in “In large cities, best solution” and “Although, large apartments are not sustainable,” where the opening clause is not smoothly connected. Practise checking agreement, articles, and how dependent clauses attach to a main clause. More consistently accurate sentences would make your varied structures easier to follow.
