Student answer (Band 5.5)
This paragraph tell about providing enough houses in big cities by making tall apartments kind of buildings.
This actually is a good idea because in this way we can manage more space. By building tall apartments instead of indivisual houses on ground can give us more plots for other purposes like shops, schools, play grounds and parks which can help us grow our economy of the city and can provide more facilities. The high apartmen or building also play a good role in the environment because their water waste system need less space as compared to indivisual houses and less ground is damaged. Most importantly when people know they are living in an apartment with other houses inside, they actually feel safe as compared to the solo houses in society. And also one combined security handles everything and secure the whole building.
I Remember when i was in a solo house with my mother in town, we always were thinkinh at night what if someone comes at house at night. We used to check all the doors and locks but fear never gone. But now its been 2 years we have shifted to an apartment in a building called ZEX, we feel much safer and secure here. The reason is that it has a single entrance and no one can enter without the card given to us. So i think for making people's lives easier this step should be taken and should start making tall apartments. This is my point of view.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You take a clear position in favour of tall apartment buildings and give relevant reasons, including efficient land use, space for public facilities, and residents’ sense of security. The personal example about moving from a detached house to the ZEX apartment makes the safety point more concrete and helps address the request for supporting examples. However, the discussion is uneven: the claims about the economy and environmental benefits are asserted rather than explained, and the response does not consider any limitation or alternative to building upwards. To strengthen the argument, develop each main reason with a clear explanation or example, and briefly acknowledge a possible drawback before explaining why you still agree overall.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable progression: it introduces the proposal, gives reasons, then supports the security argument with a personal example and concludes with your view. Linking phrases such as “Most importantly,” “But now,” and “So” help show relationships between ideas. However, the opening sentence is more like a description of the topic than a focused introduction, and the reasons and personal story are crowded into long blocks without clear paragraphing. Some connections are also mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “and” to add points. Organise the essay into distinct paragraphs for the introduction, reasons, example, and conclusion, and use clearer references and transitions so each point builds naturally on the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “tall apartments,” “facilities,” “security,” and “entrance.” The personal example is also expressed in language that is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several choices or forms sound unnatural, such as “solo houses,” “water waste system,” and “grow our economy of the city.” Spelling errors, including “indivisual” and “apartmen,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and avoid repeating basic terms such as “good” and “safe.” For example, describe how high-rise housing “uses land efficiently” and how shared security “improves residents’ sense of safety.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “when people know they are living in an apartment…” and a contrast between your former house and current apartment. Meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence formation and verb forms are noticeable. For example, “This paragraph tell” has subject–verb disagreement, while “we always were thinkinh” uses an incorrect verb form; “The high apartmen or building also play” also lacks agreement. Some sentences run together, as in the section beginning “Most importantly,” which makes the relationships between clauses less clear. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, past-tense forms, and sentence boundaries, while keeping some complex structures and checking each clause for a complete, correctly formed verb.
