Student answer (Band 5.5)
The best way to provide to adequate amount of homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks.I think it is the best approach because through this method we can save space and can do other thing for example agriculture etc.
I completely agree with this statement and because it has many advantages. the most significant money is that if we build tall building and make apartments then we can save a lot of space and utilise that space for agriculture and to make other institutes for example hospitals, educational institues etc. Also in this way, we can separate industrial area as with the housing society in a better way , so that the health of the people cannot get affected. in that send it will decrease our school many harmful diseases for example asthma Bronchitis and other lung diseases.
I dis agree with this idea to some extent because it has some disadvantages also. the main factor is the natural disaster for example if natural disaster was appearing any area for example flowers and earthquake it's a then the sol building cannot survive in those circumstances then it will inter and take the rise of many people also and half and the after effects of the natural disaster because after that we have to clear that debris which requires alot of money and resources. but I think that the disadvantages are less and can be resolved if we improve the design of buildings and use advanced technology and best durability material in making buildings.
In conclusion, I completely agree with the idea that we should build tall building to provide enough home to people because of it's many advantages like we can save the space for other activities and other thing and can also use that space to provide to other facility and can also safeguard the health of the peolle , although it has some disadvantages but they can be removed if we focus on the remedies or solution.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you completely agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes, while acknowledging a possible drawback. You give relevant reasons, including saving land for agriculture and public facilities, separating housing from industry, and the risk of buildings collapsing during disasters. This addresses the main parts of the question. However, the supporting ideas are unevenly developed: the benefits are listed rather than explained with a specific example, and the disaster point is difficult to follow in places. To strengthen the response, explain how high-rise housing would meet demand in a particular city and develop one or two reasons with clearer cause-and-effect detail. The length requirement is met; 10 words copied from the prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting advantages, a paragraph considering disadvantages, and a conclusion that returns to your position. This helps the reader follow the broad argument. However, progression within paragraphs is weakened by unclear or inaccurate linking, such as “I completely agree … and because” and “I dis agree with this idea to some extent,” which makes the relationship between your main position and counterargument less smooth. Several points are joined into long sequences, and references such as “in that send” do not clearly connect to the preceding idea. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s purpose, then organise each reason and its explanation in a clear sequence. More precise, less repetitive transitions would improve cohesion.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “agriculture,” “industrial area,” “natural disaster,” “debris,” and “advanced technology.” These choices show an attempt to discuss both urban planning and building safety. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the argument hard to understand, for example “the most significant money,” “the sol building,” and “take the rise of many people.” Spelling and word-form errors, including “institues,” “peolle,” and “alot,” also reduce clarity. Aim for precise phrases that express your intended meaning, and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general terms such as “thing” and “many advantages” with specific vocabulary would make the discussion more effective.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional idea in “if we build tall building … we can save a lot of space” and a concession in the final paragraph. However, control is inconsistent, and some sentence structures make the meaning difficult to follow. For example, “I completely agree with this statement and because it has many advantages” has an incomplete connection, while “if natural disaster was appearing any area” uses an unsuitable verb form and an unclear clause structure. There are also errors with articles, plurals, agreement, and sentence boundaries, as in “build tall building” and the run-on opening paragraph. Practise building accurate sentences around one main idea, then add subordinate clauses only when their grammar is secure.
