Student answer (Band 6.0)

Nowadays, the significant rise in population is the major problem for our government. To overcome the accomodation issue, building tallest appartement is the best approach. I completely agree with this statement because taller the appartment have enough homes for people.

One major advantage of tall apartments is that we have more flats available in the building to settle many families in a single space. For instance, a building of 20 floor with the minimum count of 5 flats in each floor, then 100 families will be settled in the building. As a result, government will be able to overcome the accomodation issue, also will be able to provide homes to the ones who don't have their own houses and settled under the sky with their families becuase of their financial conditions.

However, making such tall buildings also create certain challenges. One major concern is the structure of these buildings. The structure and material should be more important rather than anything else, becuase there are some environmental changes such as earthquakes and other weather condition which affects the structure of the building and can lead to the destruction of building. As a result, several deaths will be occur becuase of the issue.

In conclusion, although tallest buildings needs better structure and meterial, I believe building a tall appartment will be beneficial for not only governments but also for people who are forced to spend their lives under the sky. It's the best approach to provide shelter to the families who are facing difficulties while settling in large cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you completely agree that tall apartment buildings are the best approach, and the conclusion restates this view. You give a relevant reason—more homes can be provided on a limited area of land—and illustrate it with the example of a 20-floor building containing 100 flats. You also acknowledge a genuine drawback, the risk of structural damage during earthquakes or severe weather. However, the main benefit is explained mostly through numbers, while the social and practical advantages are asserted rather than developed. The challenge paragraph identifies safety concerns but does not explain how these could be addressed or weigh them against the benefits. Developing these points more fully would make the argument more convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph supporting tall buildings, a paragraph considering a drawback, and a conclusion. The progression from benefit to concern is easy to follow, and signposts such as “For instance,” “However,” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. This already gives the essay a coherent shape. Some connections are less smooth, though: “As a result” is used repeatedly, and the long sentence beginning “As a result, government will be able…” combines several outcomes without clearly separating them. The reference to people “settled under the sky” is also not fully integrated with the preceding example. Use a wider range of linking methods and make relationships between claims and examples more precise.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “population,” “structure,” “earthquakes,” “financial conditions,” and “provide shelter.” These choices make the subject clear, and phrases such as “accommodation issue” show an attempt to express the housing problem directly. However, the range is limited and several words or collocations are inaccurate or repeated, which makes parts of the response less natural. Examples include “building tallest appartement,” “minimum count of 5 flats,” and “weather condition.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “accomodation,” “becuase,” and “meterial.” Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “construct high-rise apartment blocks” and “a shortage of affordable housing,” and check spelling carefully.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession in “although tallest buildings needs better structure and meterial” and a relative clause in “people who are forced to spend their lives…” The main ideas remain understandable, and the paragraph structure helps clarify your meaning. Some grammatical errors nevertheless recur. For example, “building a 20 floor” needs a correctly formed noun phrase, while “taller the appartment have” has faulty comparison and subject–verb structure. In “several deaths will be occur,” the passive form is incorrect; use “several deaths may occur” or “people may be killed.” There are also agreement and article errors, as in “buildings…create” and “the government.” Work on accurate verb forms, agreement, and sentence construction while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
