Student answer (Band 5.0)

The Best way to Provide homes in large cities:

I can't totally agree with this nor disagree with this statment . As Home is one of the most imporant thing , its a place where we live , survive , eat ,sleep . Not all have a home today , it may be small or big everyone needs a place to rest once they complete all their works. In cities there are more apartments and individual houses too. So to provide homes in cities one of the best ways is to build tall apartment blocks , because they can be built in a sequence.

Apartments are nothing but a tall buliding in which they have mutliple floor with same type of construction in different directions. So we have advantages and diadvantages for this . Advantages are they are some what cheap than individual houses. We can't provide many individual house for the people. In that case apartment is the best option which can be completed in one strech.

Disadvantages are as apartments is closed evironment peope can't find out whats happening next to their door for once case its a good thing but for any emergency case its the worst thing to be faced .

But for providing enough homes building apartments would be a very great option as shelter is needed for everyone . As building apartments can also help in development of the city as well more population more needs more development of the city more uses of the things Hence more needs.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You take a broadly relevant position: you do not fully agree or disagree, while recognising that apartment blocks can provide homes efficiently. The points about lower cost and building many units in one development support this view. However, the position is not consistently explained, and the response only partly answers whether this is the best way: it does not compare apartments with other approaches or explain when alternatives might be preferable. The point about residents not knowing what is happening nearby is also unclear and only loosely connected to the housing question. Develop two or three relevant reasons with specific explanation or an example, and state your degree of agreement clearly in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, moving from an introduction to advantages, disadvantages and a concluding view. Paragraphing helps distinguish these sections, and words such as “So,” “because” and “But” signal some relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is often weak: the final sentence about city development shifts abruptly into a chain of claims about population, needs and development. The advantages and disadvantages are presented as lists rather than being linked and explained, while “for once case” makes the relationship in the disadvantage paragraph difficult to follow. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each supporting point explicitly to the question, and use referencing and transitions more precisely to avoid abrupt or repetitive links.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the general subject, including “apartments,” “individual houses,” “shelter” and “emergency.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “closed environment” and “development of the city.” However, the range is limited and some wording is inaccurate or unnatural, which can make ideas harder to understand. For example, “completed in one stretch” is not a natural way to describe constructing housing, and “more uses of the things” is vague. Spelling errors such as “statment,” “imporant” and “buliding” are noticeable. Build a more precise vocabulary for housing and urban planning, and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a contrast introduced by “but.” However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty or difficult to follow. For example, “Advantages are they are some what cheap than individual houses” has an unclear sentence structure, while “Disadvantages are as apartments is…” contains problems with clause construction and subject–verb agreement. There are also frequent issues with articles, plurals and punctuation, as in “many individual house” and the inconsistent spacing around commas and full stops. Practise building accurate sentences with one main idea and a clearly formed supporting clause, then proofread agreement, articles and sentence boundaries.
