Student answer (Band 6.0)
Since the human beings came into existence, a house is the basic necessity to survive. The forms of houses changes as the time passes but their importance remains same. I strongely believe that a better way to provide sufficient homes in big cities is the construction of buildings with multiple appartments.
Firstly, indivisual homes much much expensive as compared to appartments within a large building. The construction of a house cost much because it requires the underground construction foundations additionally the roof of indivisual house requires more cement and bricks. However the appartments that are build with a taller building donot require foundations indivisually. The foundation of building is enough and multiple story appartments can easily be buuld upon one another. For Example, building a single story house for a single family will cost 5000$ while an appartment within a taller multistory building will cost around 3500$ because the cost of foundation is divided accross all appartments. Therefore appartments in a single taller building will reduce the basic cost and makes it affordable for many people to get their own house.
One the other hand, larger number of house could be created comparitively smaller area of land. For building multiple houses a large number of plots are required and because of the over population the land within big cities is very limited with prohibits a large number of people to get their house. For instance 20000 square feet is required for 10 houses, whereas 10000 square feet land is enough to build 15 appartment building. Therefore, building multistory building on a single plot will helps multiple people to have their own house in big cities regardless of the much saturated population.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you strongly support tall apartment buildings as a way to provide homes in large cities. You address two relevant reasons—lower construction costs and more homes on less land—and the examples of costs and land area help make these points concrete. However, the cost comparison is asserted rather than explained in enough detail, and the figures would be more persuasive if their basis were clarified. The second reason is also developed less fully: you explain that city land is limited, but could show more clearly how this affects housing availability or affordability. A brief conclusion restating your position and drawing the two reasons together would make the response feel more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a logical progression within each paragraph from claim to example and result. Linking expressions such as “Firstly,” “For instance,” and “Therefore” help readers follow the argument. Some cohesion is mechanical, however, because several sentences rely on the same cause-and-effect pattern and “Therefore” is used to announce conclusions repeatedly. The transition “One the other hand” suggests a contrast, although the second paragraph adds another supporting reason rather than presenting an opposing view. Improve the flow by varying transitions and using clearer references to connect each example to the point it supports.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “construction,” “foundations,” “multiple,” and “over population.” There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “saturated population,” though this phrase is not a natural fit for the intended meaning. Spelling errors—including “strongely,” “appartments,” “indivisual,” and “comparitively”—are noticeable, and some word choices or combinations are awkward, such as “a better way” and “the basic cost.” These do not prevent the reader from understanding your argument, but they limit precision and naturalness. Check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for housing, construction costs, and urban density.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “because,” “while,” and “whereas,” and the main meaning is generally clear. Some grammatical errors remain across the response. For example, “The forms of houses changes” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “The construction of a house cost much” uses an incorrect verb form. There are also issues with articles, plurals, and sentence structure, as in “larger number of house could be created” and “will helps multiple people.” These errors rarely obscure your points, but they reduce accuracy. Review agreement, verb forms after modal verbs, and singular/plural noun patterns, then proofread each sentence for a complete and correctly formed structure.
