Student answer (Band 5.0)

This is on going debate that providing enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks. This great issue to find home in big cities because of the growing population, better opportunity and better lifestyle attract the people toward the big cites. This lead to make more homes in large cities.

On one hand people who said the best way to provide enough homes in large cities to build tall apartment blocks. It is good way to make the homes more affordable and cheap. For example this make easy for student to rent apartment and also seem helpful for middle class family to by a cheap house at good place and live better life.

On other hand people who said build tall apartment blocks is not better way to provide enough homes in large cities. Because the tall building may have risk of falling down in natural deseasitors like windstrome. But it also cause accidents near the airports because the tall building cause the planes crash.

In my opinion the tall building apartment blocks in safe paces is best way to provide enough homes in large cities. Also make sure about all safety and strong construction is also have the big role in safety.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You address the topic and give a position: you support tall apartment blocks when they are built in “safe paces” and constructed strongly. You also offer reasons on both sides, including affordability and possible safety risks. However, the response is only 168 words, so it is 82 words below the required minimum; this limits how fully you can develop your argument. The affordability point is brief, and the claims about storms and aircraft are not explained or supported with clear examples. Your conclusion also does not fully weigh these points. To strengthen the response, state your degree of agreement clearly, explain each main reason, and add a relevant example before concluding.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two contrasting body paragraphs signalled by “On one hand” and “On other hand,” and a final opinion. These markers help the reader follow the broad direction of your argument. However, progression within paragraphs is limited, and some links between ideas are unclear. For example, the discussion moves from tall buildings causing airport accidents to your support for them without explaining how this concern affects your position. The repeated “people who said” framing also makes the argument feel mechanical. Develop one main idea at a time, use clearer references, and connect each paragraph’s evidence back to your view.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “population,” “affordable,” “middle class,” “natural disasters,” and “construction,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main points. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make parts difficult to understand, such as “big cites,” “windstrome,” and “safe paces.” Phrases such as “make the homes more affordable and cheap” repeat the same idea rather than expressing it precisely. Aim to use accurate collocations and check spelling, while choosing vocabulary that explains the housing issue more specifically. For example, you could refer to housing demand, high-density development, or building safety.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a reason clause beginning “because of” and a contrast between the two sides. However, sentence structures are often incomplete or faulty, and errors frequently affect clarity. The opening, “This is on going debate that providing enough homes…,” lacks a clear grammatical structure; “This lead to make more homes” also has problems with verb form and sentence construction. Articles and agreement are inconsistent, as in “the tall building…cause,” and punctuation and spacing are uneven. Practise building complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles, and verb forms. More accurate control of these basics will make your ideas easier to follow.
