Student answer (Band 6.0)
The idea of building large apartment blocks is often argued that if it will actually solve the problem of providing enough homes in big cities. I strongly agree with this statement as building indiviual homes take more space and can only fit one family whereas, apartment blocks are capable of residing multiple families.
Life in the cities are more fast paced and the population is generally more than in the rural areas. The big cities like Lahore work quite differently than Sahiwal. Emigrant Workers, students, corporate employees in order to cater the needs of all there are so many things that are considered necessary out of which good living condition is one of them.
The population mass in large cities is a common site. The facilities like better education, employment opportunities attract people to move from rural areas. Students are considered temporary residents and they are always tight on budget so, they are always looking for some pocket friendly options they do sometimes prefer to live with a group of students or share an apartment so they can save some money. For example, most of my classmates were sharing apartment with other students.
Emigrant workers and corporate employees most of the time are single. They often find it difficult looking for a suitable living place as they prefer to live nearby their workplace. Apartment blocks are the solution to these problems as it can fit many people and cater to the needs of so many groups. It is not possible to fit 50 different families or groups into one individual home but it is possible to fit them into an appartment block. For example, apartment blocks in Askari Lahore were created to provide homes to corporate employees so they can reach office early.
Hence, the conclusion is that I strongly agree by this statement as it will be an efficient way to use up space to provide shelter for multiple group of people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you strongly support apartment blocks as a way to house more people while using less space. You give relevant reasons, including students sharing accommodation and workers wanting to live near their workplaces, and the Lahore examples help make the discussion concrete. This fully addresses the central question, with some evidence of the fuller development expected at a higher level. However, the discussion focuses mainly on particular groups and does not explain in much detail why tall blocks are the best solution compared with other approaches, such as denser low-rise housing. The point about city populations and facilities is also broad and only partly connected to the argument. Develop these comparisons and explain the benefits and possible limitations more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs about city growth, students and workers, and a concluding statement. The ideas generally progress from the need for housing to examples of people who might use apartments. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For instance, “Emigrant Workers, students, corporate employees in order to cater the needs of all” is an incomplete and difficult-to-follow sentence, while “Hence, the conclusion is” is an unnecessarily formulaic transition. The paragraph about population and facilities does not clearly lead into the student example. Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example explicitly to the claim about tall buildings, and make references such as “it” unambiguous.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of relevant housing and city-related vocabulary, including “employment opportunities,” “temporary residents,” “workplace,” and “efficient way to use up space.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some phrases show an attempt to be specific. However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or unnatural, as in “population mass,” “common site,” “pocket friendly options,” and “fit 50 different families.” There are also spelling errors such as “indiviual” and “appartment,” and “Emigrant Workers” is not the appropriate term for people moving to a city for work. These issues make the vocabulary less precise than the argument requires. Aim for natural collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses with “whereas,” “as,” and “so,” and the overall meaning is usually understandable. However, some errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles and punctuation remain. For example, “The idea … is often argued that” has a faulty construction; “Life in the cities are” has subject–verb disagreement; and “it can fit many people” does not clearly agree with the plural subject “Apartment blocks.” The opening paragraph also joins clauses awkwardly with “whereas,” and several sentences run together without appropriate spacing after full stops. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check agreement and punctuation, while retaining the variety you are attempting.
