Student answer (Band 5.5)

The city life is always being very busy along with the limited accomodation. There is always have hustle and bustle and not much enough places to live in a huge space with fields and greenery. Its always a difficult task to pprovide enough accomdation for the people and also ensure enough space. According to my point of view I think to provide enough homes in large cities its an wise decision to build tall apartrment blocks.

Firstly, large cities are always remain busy and consists of a lots of tall buildings. There are not even enough space for providing much space for children for their activities. Most of them have to stay in their home and build their life entertaining part with playing video games. Because ,the homes of large cities are even more conjusted than a small cities or an urban areas home. For example, in newyyork city we could notice how much properties are builing day by day. For the children there have no big space for their play time and so they have to do their leisure time by playing video games.

On the other hand, if there have build tall apartments it could be easier to live in a more qualitiful accomdation. There could be provide lift so even it will be more easier for them. Besides, build home in tall buildings there have plenty of chances to make a garden in thgeir balcony and even its possible to make bigger balcony in tall apartment blocks. Along with that, in rooftop it could be possible to make a park even a gym also. For example, there are any modern homes which are in tall apartments in manhattan Newyork which providing enough day light as well as enough space in home also. As e result its possible to enjoy the view also live in a good place which is consist of enough day light not conjusted.

To sum up, I would strongly agree the statement that its the best way to provide enough homes with enough space and environment in large cities is to build tall apartments blocks .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide homes in large cities. You give relevant points about limited urban space and mention possible facilities such as lifts, rooftop parks and gyms, with Manhattan as an example. However, the response only partly develops the task: the first body paragraph focuses mainly on children’s lack of play space, rather than explaining how high-rise construction provides more homes. Some claims, such as the possibility of larger balconies and adequate living space, are asserted without showing how these features address housing shortages. Develop the central argument with a clear explanation of how building upwards increases housing capacity, and consider a limitation or alternative to make your reasoning more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand” and “To sum up” help identify sections. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the discussion moves from limited space to children playing video games, then to apartment facilities, without consistently linking each point back to the question of providing enough homes. Some connections are unclear, including “Besides, build home in tall buildings there have plenty of chances…” and “As e result.” Repeated references to space and children also make the development feel circular. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, explain it in sequence, and use clearer links between the example and the claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You attempt topic-related vocabulary, including “accommodation,” “congested,” “rooftop,” “day light” and “leisure time,” and phrases such as “hustle and bustle” show an effort to vary expression. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to understand: “accomdation,” “conjusted,” “qualitiful” and “builing.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “build their life entertaining part” and “do their leisure time.” Repetition of “enough space,” “tall apartments” and “large cities” further restricts precision. Build a reliable set of housing and urban-planning terms, check spelling, and learn common collocations so your ideas can be expressed more clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the response includes some subordinate clauses, for example, “so even it will be more easier for them.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and frequent errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction sometimes make the meaning hard to follow. Examples include “There is always have hustle and bustle,” “large cities are always remain busy,” and “if there have build tall apartments.” Articles and singular/plural forms are also inconsistent, as in “an wise decision” and “a small cities.” Punctuation around clauses is sometimes awkward. Practise building accurate basic sentences first, then extend them with one clear subordinate clause; carefully check subject–verb agreement and article use.
