Student answer (Band 6.0)
In highly populated or big cities, it is believed that high rise buildings or apartments are the best way to accomodate people. This essay will dealt with the author's view on the above statement.
I do believe that tall apartments are the best way of providing homes, high rise buildings and tall apartments will definitely provide extensive housing to the people but it has its own limitations. Firstly, most of the people who are habitual of living in their own houses, are reluctant in living to the apartments where they feel that their privacy is disturbed, niether the floor nor the roof is their own. Secondly, security threat is always there, as you do not know who is living in your building. Finally, in case of any dissaster like earthquake or any terror attack there would be lost of massive human lives as the building collapse.
On the other hand, as the population of the world is increasing day by day. Countries have limited land to account for people living needs, it has been noticed that high rise apartment have become the need of today. For instance, Singapore and UAE have been known for its high rise buildings. They have provided great infrastructure, security, lifestyle and everything that one can demand for modern living.
Overall, it can be concluded that modern cities are moving towards tall apartments and it has become the demand of every highly populated city of the world. Therefore, it would be better to adapt this change provided that it will coupe with all facilities of humanbeings.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support tall apartments as the best way to provide homes, while acknowledging drawbacks. You address both sides with relevant points, including privacy, security and disaster risks, then explain the pressure created by limited land and growing populations. The examples of Singapore and the UAE help illustrate the trend. However, some ideas are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the security concern is not connected to a specific feature of apartment living, and the claim that these places provide “everything” is broad. The conclusion also says cities should adapt, but does not clearly state what safeguards would make this approach effective. Develop the reasoning behind your main points and make the extent of your agreement more explicit throughout.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting limitations, a contrasting paragraph supporting high-rise housing, and a conclusion. Sequencing words such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Finally,” and “On the other hand” make the progression easy to follow. This coherent arrangement meets the lower-band expectations, and the paragraphing is appropriate. To make the organisation more flexible and polished, avoid relying so heavily on formulaic transitions and strengthen the links between claims and explanations. The opening of the second body paragraph, “as the population of the world is increasing day by day,” is a sentence fragment, which interrupts the flow. Also clarify references such as “They” in the Singapore and UAE example, so the reader can immediately identify what the pronoun refers to.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of topic vocabulary, including “high rise buildings,” “privacy,” “security,” “infrastructure,” and “modern living,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “limited land” and “highly populated city.” However, noticeable spelling and word-choice problems reduce precision: “accomodate,” “niether,” “dissaster,” and “coupe” are misspelled, while “lost of massive human lives” and “account for people living needs” are unnatural expressions. Some wording is repetitive, particularly “tall apartments” and “high rise buildings.” Build accuracy with common housing collocations and vary repeated terms; this would make the vocabulary more controlled and natural.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex forms, including a conditional clause in “in case of any … attack” and a relative clause in “where they feel that their privacy is disturbed.” The overall meaning remains clear, but some grammatical errors occur across the response. For example, “This essay will dealt” has an incorrect verb form, and “as the population … is increasing” is left as a fragment rather than joined to a main clause. There are also agreement and article problems in “high rise apartment have become” and “the building collapse.” Work on complete sentence construction, subject–verb agreement, and consistent verb forms. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied sentence attempts easier to read.
