Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is true that high-rise building reduce the accomodation problem is developed cities by providing enough for individuals. well from my perspective i beleive that building tall apartments blocks is benefical because, it offers a huge amount of efficient land use and affordable housing opportunities.
To begin with, a mojor advancement is proper useage of the mega cities limited usable lands. constructing vertically allows developer to accomodate more families in a small area of land. This not only reduse the tension of land use but also the need of urban expansion in surrounding rural areas. For instance, in Dhaka, where the population densily is high, high-rise residential can accomodate hundreds of peoples on land that mights otherwise contain only a few.
Futhuremore, big apartments provide a variety of advantage to many individuals. Affordable housing oppourtunities reduce land cost per households, therefore they can buy share in the apartment without expending their fortune.Another benefit is shared facilities such as lifts, car parking areas, security systems. This can aslo help to reduse certain costs. Moreover, more accessible to middle class familes, they will get the chance to own apartment and it will aslo reduce the tension of a permanent house for many people.
In conclusion, high-rise building provide a variety of facilities to the genaral people beacuse it helps them to acchieve a dream .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a clear position in favour of tall apartment blocks and give relevant reasons: efficient land use, reduced pressure for urban expansion, and potentially more affordable housing. The Dhaka example also helps illustrate how vertical building can accommodate many residents. However, the ideas are only partly developed: the affordability point is asserted rather than explained, and the conclusion does not fully summarise your reasoning. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is limited space to develop your arguments and address the question fully. To strengthen the response, explain how lower land costs translate into lower housing costs and add a relevant qualification or counterargument before reaffirming your position.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with,” “Furthermore,” and “In conclusion” make the main stages easy to identify. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the second body paragraph moves from affordability to shared facilities and then to home ownership without clearly showing how each point connects. Some linking is mechanical, and the final sentence is too brief to bring the argument together. Use clearer topic sentences and develop one main idea at a time, with references such as “these shared facilities” to connect sentences precisely. This would make the overall organisation more coherent and reduce abrupt transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “high-rise,” “urban expansion,” “affordable housing,” and “shared facilities,” which helps communicate your main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific phrasing, such as “limited usable lands.” However, spelling errors are frequent, including “accomodation,” “mojor,” “Futhuremore,” and “genaral,” and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, such as “reduce the tension of land use” and “buy share in the apartment.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear. Aim to check spelling carefully and learn common collocations for housing and urban development, for example “ease pressure on land” and “purchase a share in an apartment.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a cause-and-effect structure in “This not only reduce the tension of land use but also the need of urban expansion.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. Examples include subject–verb agreement in “high-rise building reduce” and “it offers,” missing or incorrect articles in “in small area of land,” and incomplete sentence structure in “Moreover, more accessible to middle class families, they will get the chance…” Punctuation and capitalisation are also unreliable, particularly at sentence beginnings. Practise building accurate sentences with one clear subject and verb, then check agreement, articles and sentence boundaries before adding more complex clauses.
