Student answer (Band 5.5)
Home crisis nowdays become a big burden for many contries due to lack of enough spaces and limited land makes it very complex problem to tackle with continuously increase in population. To overcome this issue some nation builds taller building and flats for people to compete with growing demand I partially agree with this while taller building provide enough homes in large cities but it also have some drawbacks.
The majority of people lives in big cities for better employement and jobs opportunities which leads to house demands to overcome this issue builder builds taller buildings while on relatively small land as compared to build house on lands this will provide people easy and affordable house in cities at much lower cost than home on land. the taller building helps accomodate enough people in building which is not possible in land based houses while cities don't have only taller building for home but also for corporate office and other amenities buildings like hospitals and governement bodies are required to build much shorter in floors then flats for houses.
On the other hand, taller building offer more spaces for large people but also it not same experienced as house on land people don't get a chance to connect with nature due to lack of space causes unavailibilty of gardening and trees. other major reason is wrong layout of cities and not enough opportunities in rural area which causes the migration in cities for jobs and demands for houses shots up.
To conclude, taller building for home is not a permanent solution for providing houses to people as it also consume land for flats and apartment, Although better city planning and layout and providing enough empolyement in rural and suburban area may help to get relief from house crisis in cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you partially agree that tall apartment buildings can help meet housing demand, while arguing they are not a complete solution. You give relevant reasons, including limited urban land, affordability, access to nature, and migration from rural areas. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the contrast between housing and buildings for offices, hospitals, and government bodies is difficult to follow, and the claim that tall buildings consume land is not clearly connected to your conclusion. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or a specific example, and make the comparison with other solutions more explicit so that all parts of your position are equally well supported.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different considerations, and a conclusion. This helps the reader follow your general position. You also use basic linking expressions such as “On the other hand” and “To conclude.” However, connections within sentences are sometimes unclear, particularly in the first body paragraph, where the discussion moves from housing costs to offices and public facilities without a clear transition. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “this issue” do not always identify a precise idea. Use shorter, more clearly organised sentences and make each paragraph develop one central point, with explicit links between the reason and its consequence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “population,” “demand,” “affordable,” “migration,” and “city planning,” which allows you to discuss the issue. There are also attempts at more specific expressions, such as “connect with nature” and “rural and suburban area.” However, spelling errors and inaccurate word combinations are noticeable, for example “employement,” “accomodate,” “house demands,” and “demands for houses shots up.” Some wording is also imprecise, such as “large people” when you mean a large number of residents. Build accuracy by checking spelling and learning common collocations for housing and urban development; this will make your ideas clearer without requiring more complicated vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including clauses with “while,” “which,” and “as.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning is generally recoverable. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries occur in several places. For instance, “The majority of people lives” should use a plural verb, while “some nation builds” needs a plural subject or a different verb form. The opening sentence also joins several ideas without clear punctuation, and “it also have” has an agreement error. Practise building accurate sentences with one main clause and a clearly attached supporting clause, then check subject–verb agreement and punctuation.
