Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argue that tall apartments can solve the accommodation problem in big cities. I strongly agree with this view. This is because if we build skyscrappers, we not only get accommodation but also save land, money and also protect environment.

There are a variety of reasons why I support this view. To begin with, skyscrappers help to provid e us adequate accommodation. This is because we sometimes observe that people build their home by destroying agricultural land. Which create a long lasting impact on our life. Consequently, we have to suffer for food shortage and also we need to import food from other countries. When we build tall apartments we can save our lands. Moreover, tall buildings is more cost effective than building a new house. The reason for this is that new home requires a lot of money for buy ingredients, pay to engineers and architectures and also pilling cost. Conversely, tall apartments is not require pilling cost. So it is obviously money effecient.

Additionally, we destroy our environment through construction activities. We cut down a number of trees. Which obviously harmful for our climate. We also lose our ecological balance when we excessively do this. For instance, an environmental report of World Bank revealed that around 40% deforestation in South Asia is responsible for construction activities.

To conclude with, it can be said that tall apartments is one of the effective ways to provide adequate homes to the dwellers of a large city. As it save our arabal land, cost effective and environment friendly.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that tall apartments can help address housing shortages. You give relevant reasons—preserving agricultural land, reducing building costs, and limiting environmental damage—and the World Bank example adds support. This covers the task, but the reasons are not developed equally. The cost argument is difficult to follow because it compares apartment construction with a new house without explaining how shared structures reduce costs. The environmental point also focuses on construction’s harms rather than showing specifically how taller buildings would reduce them compared with other housing. Explain these comparisons and develop the supporting example more clearly so your reasons directly establish why this is the best approach.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The main ideas are grouped sensibly, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moreover,” and “Additionally” help readers follow the argument. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “Which create a long lasting impact” is a fragment whose connection to the previous sentence is not smoothly expressed, and “Consequently” introduces food shortages without fully explaining the causal link. The cost discussion also moves quickly from expenses to the claim that apartments do not require piling costs. Use clearer references and explain the relationship between each claim and its consequence; this would make the progression more convincing and less dependent on formulaic transitions.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “accommodation,” “agricultural land,” “deforestation,” and “ecological balance,” and you attempt more specific terms such as “cost effective.” However, spelling and word-choice errors are noticeable and sometimes make the intended meaning less precise: “skyscrappers,” “effecient,” and “arabal land” appear in key parts of the response. Some collocations are also unnatural, such as “pilling cost” and “buy ingredients” when discussing construction. “Tall apartments” and “adequate accommodation” are repeated, so the vocabulary range feels limited in places. Check spelling carefully and choose conventional construction terms, while varying references to housing and land. These changes would improve precision without requiring unnecessarily complex vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional phrasing (“if we build…”) and cause-and-effect structures. However, errors in sentence formation and agreement recur and sometimes make relationships harder to follow. For example, “It is often argue” needs a passive form, while “tall buildings is” and “tall apartments is not require” show problems with subject–verb agreement and verb construction. “Which create a long lasting impact” is an incomplete sentence, and the conclusion’s “As it save” is also a fragment with incorrect agreement. Work on complete sentence boundaries, matching verbs to plural subjects, and forming passive or negative verb phrases accurately. Greater control of these patterns would make your argument easier to read.
