Student answer (Band 5.5)
It has been argued that in today's globalized world big cities have a housing shortage for population growth. I partly agree with this statement because tall building provides huge amount of accommodation with small areas. However, other housing solutions are also necessary.
Numerous reason are involved to support the particular phenomenon. First of all, people can stay with their families together in apartments. It can reduce too much use land. As well as, people can get various types of facilities such as office, transport, hospital and education etc. Sometimes apartments may find cheaper rate for living because without space like wise individual houses. For example, Dhaka as a city which provides numerous advantage so people can stay with comportable.
On the other hand, living a lot of people in one cities increase traffic jam. Sometimes people feel bored for havvey traffic. Some families prefer stay random houses because they can't stay with this atmosphere and also they get gardens area which help them to spend quality time with their family members. Apart from that, too many people living together create numerous pollution such as water, sound, fumes etc. sometimes people may face some major disease. Goverment can reduce this issue to build houses in every village by their own expense. For instance, developing residential areas outside city centres can provide more housing and reduce pressure on crowded urban areas.
In conclusion, although build a tall building can reduce peoples living shortages. However, government should also develop rural areas and provides affordable transport. Therefore, a combination of different approaches is the best solution.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you partly agree that tall apartment blocks can help, while arguing that other approaches are also needed. You address both sides with relevant points, including efficient land use, access to facilities, traffic and pollution, and development outside city centres. The example of Dhaka and the suggestion to develop residential areas beyond city centres help connect the discussion to real-world solutions. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained. For instance, the claim that apartments allow families to stay together is not clearly linked to providing enough homes, and the point about government-funded village housing needs more explanation of how it would meet urban demand. Develop these links and support key claims more specifically.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting different considerations, and a conclusion that restates your position. Transitions such as “First of all,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” make the overall direction easy to follow. However, some connections are mechanical or unclear. “Numerous reason are involved to support the particular phenomenon” does not clearly introduce the points that follow, while “As well as” is awkwardly attached to the previous sentence. The second body paragraph also moves quickly from traffic to gardens, pollution, disease, and rural housing, so the relationship between these points is not always clear. Group related ideas and use clearer references and transitions to show how each point supports your argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “housing shortage,” “accommodation,” “traffic jam,” “residential areas,” and “city centres,” which helps communicate the main ideas. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “quality time” and “affordable transport.” However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand: “comportable,” “random houses,” “havvey traffic,” and “reduce peoples living shortages.” Spelling errors such as “Goverment” and “fumes” in the pollution list also reduce precision. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling; for example, describe “heavy traffic” and “housing shortages” rather than using unclear phrases.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a contrastive opening (“I partly agree … However…”) and a conditional explanation beginning “because.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms occur across the response. Examples include “tall building provides,” “Numerous reason are involved,” and “living a lot of people in one cities increase,” where agreement and plural forms are not controlled. Some clauses are also incomplete or awkwardly joined, as in “As well as, people can get…” and “For example, Dhaka as a city which provides…”. In the conclusion, “although build a tall building can reduce” needs a correctly formed clause. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete clause structures while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
