Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is argued that tall apartment blocks in big cities are build for give enough homes. While there are many disadvantages, I believe advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
There are a number of factors why in large cities tall apartment provide enough homes is the best way. One possible factor is that when a tall apartment build it provides many families to live in that one place. By staying in this same building, it reduce the amount of space in cities. Another significant factor is that it build strong relationship among the neighbours. For instance, people who lived in same building they can easily help easch other during their difficult time.
Another compelling argument in favor of this is it organised the city areas. This means that when an apartment build it not only give many people living space but also increased the beauty of the cities. Without tall apartments many people make home anywhere and for this reason there were no enough space for roaming. Secondly the cities get enough space for parking or gardening if the tall apartments provide home a huge number of individuals. For illustrate, in the capital of Bangladesh has many tall apartments and for this reason government can make many parks for children and people who exercise daily. This not only give citizen proper living space but also gave them the opportunity of being healthy.
In conclusion, I strongly believe that cities should make tall buildings for wellfare of its citizens in the long run.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support tall apartment blocks, and you give relevant reasons, including housing many families on a smaller urban footprint and making room for parks and parking. The Bangladesh example also helps connect your argument to a real context. However, the response does not fully develop every point. The claim that apartments build strong neighbourly relationships is asserted but not explained, and the idea that they “increased the beauty of the cities” needs clearer support. The opening also mentions disadvantages, but the essay does not identify or weigh any, so the extent of your agreement is not explored as fully as it could be. Develop fewer points with clearer explanation and evidence.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The essay has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, with the main position maintained throughout. Sequencing phrases such as “Another significant factor,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help signal the direction of the argument. However, some links are mechanical or do not clearly show how one idea follows from another. “Secondly” introduces parking and gardening after a point about city organisation, but the relationship between these claims could be made more explicit. References such as “this” in “This means that” and “This not only give” are also not always precise. Use topic sentences to group related points and make each example’s connection to its claim explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “apartment blocks,” “neighbours,” “parking,” “gardening,” and “living space.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “Another compelling argument” and “in the long run.” However, word choice and collocation are often inaccurate or repetitive, which makes some claims less clear. For example, “provide enough homes” and “make home anywhere” are awkward in context, while “for illustrate” and “easch” show errors in expression and spelling. Some words are used in the wrong form, as in “wellfare.” Build a more precise range of housing and urban-planning vocabulary, and check common word partnerships and spelling.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “if the tall apartments provide home a huge number of individuals” and a relative clause in “people who lived in same building.” This shows some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Examples include “are build,” “when a tall apartment build,” and “it reduce,” where verb forms or agreement are incorrect. Articles and sentence construction also need attention in “people who lived in same building they can easily help,” which combines clauses without a clear grammatical link. Practise accurate present-tense forms, subject–verb agreement, and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence for a clear subject and verb.
