Student answer (Band 5.0)
Construction of tall buildings or flats is the better way to provide sufficient homes in urban areas. I strongly agree with this statement.
On the first hand, tall apartment blocks covered less area. Large number of individuals can live in flats because of their structure. It's costs is also lower than plots. So, people can afford it easily. Most of the people prefer cities because of their profession. They just stay at home in nights and leave their home at early morning. For instance, my elder brother lives in ahmadabad for his career. So, flat is most convinent residance for him.
Tall apartment also provide better facilities like compound, garden, parking area, elevator, better electricity facilities. People feel very comfortable to stay in flats because there is a cozy and peaceful atmosphear on upper floors. For example, the people who stays at top floors are feels more comfortable than homes. The atmosphear is also very peaceful.
On the other hand, tall buildings are very dangerous in earthqueck kind of situations. And there are also some problems about maintanance.
In conclusion, residance is preffered by people's choice. Tall apartments are with less covered areas are well structured and provide cozy enviornment.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear from the opening: “I strongly agree,” and you give relevant reasons, including efficient land use, affordability, and access to facilities. The example of your brother in Ahmedabad also helps connect the argument to a real situation. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: several points are asserted rather than explained, such as why city residents mainly need a place to sleep, or how apartment blocks make housing more affordable. The earthquake and maintenance concerns are introduced but not developed or weighed against your position. The response is also 50 words below the required minimum, limiting the space available to develop both sides and support your conclusion. Explain each main point with a clear cause, consequence, or specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs, a counterpoint, and a conclusion. The shift signalled by “On the other hand” is appropriate, and examples are placed near the points they illustrate. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the discussion moves from land use to cost and then to residents’ routines without showing how these ideas connect. Linking phrases such as “So” and “For example” are used, but relationships between claims are not always made explicit. The final paragraph repeats earlier ideas rather than drawing them together into a developed conclusion. Group related points more carefully and use clear references and transitions to show how each sentence advances the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “urban areas,” “apartment blocks,” “maintenance,” and “facilities,” and the reader can generally understand your intended meaning. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, which sometimes makes the message less clear. For example, “covered less area” would be more naturally expressed as “occupy less land,” while “cozy and peaceful atmosphere on upper floors” is an imprecise generalisation. There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “conv inent” (written as “convinent”), “residance,” “earthqueck,” and “enviornment.” Build a more precise set of housing and urban-planning terms, and check spelling and common word combinations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most sentences use simple structures, and the main position and supporting points are usually understandable. There are attempts to form longer sentences, but control is inconsistent. For example, “It's costs is also lower” has an incorrect possessive construction, and “the people who stays at top floors are feels” contains errors in subject–verb agreement and verb form. “Tall apartment also provide” likewise has a singular–plural agreement problem. Articles and sentence patterns also need attention, as in “in nights” and “leave their home at early morning.” These recurring errors sometimes make the reader pause, and the range of structures remains limited. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, verb forms, and articles, then add controlled complex sentences using clauses such as “because” and “although.”
