Student answer (Band 6.0)
Building tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide housing to a large number of the population. It provides a greater number of apartments for the people to move into in the same plot of land that could only house a few families if bunglows or mansions are built.
Few of the benefits of mansions and bunglows allow for spacious and luxurious way of living.
Apartment blocks introduce a concept of shared space which may create certain disagreements between the tenants. People living in bunglows do not face such issues.
Although apartments blocks solves the issue of providing settlement for a higher number of people, it creates problems such as frequent maitainence issues, conjusted areas, shared parking space and higher traffic as a result of higher number of people travelling through similar routes on a daily basis.
Nevertheless, as more and more people are migrating from rural to urban areas, there is higher demand for settlements in such regions and this can only be catered to by tall apartments blocks and housing societies which provide housing to a huge number of people. Another benefecial part of living in these apartment blocks are the nearby convenience store availability as they would like to cater to a large number of people rather than a family of four living in a mansion nearby. These inherently provides them with more business and this raises the standard of living for even those who are not necessarily directly benefiting from living in such premises.
Therefore, I do agree that building tall apartments are a viable solution for providing housing to a large number of people. Along with that, proper planning for creating such shared spaces is as essential as building the apartment blocks itself.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that tall apartment blocks are a viable way to house more people, and you give relevant reasons, including migration to cities and the efficient use of land. You also acknowledge drawbacks such as shared-space disagreements, maintenance, congestion and traffic, which helps address the issue with some balance. However, several points are asserted rather than fully explained. For example, the claim that urban housing demand “can only be catered to” by tall blocks is too absolute, and the convenience-store benefit is not clearly connected to whether these buildings are the best way to provide homes. Develop the comparison with alternatives and explain why the benefits outweigh the drawbacks.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: it introduces your view, considers disadvantages, explains the demand for urban housing, and concludes with a recommendation about planning. Paragraphing generally separates these stages, and transitions such as “Although,” “Nevertheless” and “Therefore” help signal the direction of the argument. At times, however, the progression within paragraphs is less controlled. The paragraph beginning “Nevertheless” moves from migration and housing demand to convenience stores and living standards without fully showing how each point supports the central claim. Some linking also feels formulaic. Make the relationship between each example and your main argument explicit, and use clearer references when moving between apartment blocks, housing societies and their residents.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “shared space,” “congested areas,” “higher traffic,” “urban areas” and “standard of living.” These choices make the subject clear, and phrases such as “rural to urban areas” show an attempt to express broader social trends. Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or imprecise, however: “provide settlement” is not natural in this context, and “benefecial part” and “nearby convenience store availability” are awkward. There are also spelling errors, including “bunglows,” “maitainence” and “conjusted.” These do not prevent understanding, but careful proofreading and more natural housing-related collocations would improve precision and control.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including a concession clause beginning “Although” and a longer sentence explaining the effect of migration on housing demand. Most ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors occur. For example, “Building tall apartment blocks are” has a subject–verb agreement problem, while “Although apartments blocks solves” combines an incorrect plural form with a singular verb. In “Another benefecial part … are,” the subject and verb do not agree, and “These inherently provides” also has a plural–singular mismatch. Review agreement, articles and plural forms, and check that long sentences retain a clear grammatical subject. More consistently accurate control of these structures would strengthen the response.
