Student answer (Band 5.5)
I agree with the given statement. In today's world, it is very difficullt to build homes from the very beginning or find places to get accomodation in the large cities. In areas, where there is a large number of poppulation that moves to big cities in search for jobs or study in better universities people prefer to get shelter in forms of apartments or flats.
It can also be a very good source of income for the investors. Even for the people who get accomodation in appartments, it is a very budget friendly option. People usually prefer appartments rather than homes beacuse of its flexible nature. As they can shift anytime from the place without worrying about sale and ownership transfer issues as compared to houses.
In many areas, such as big cities of India like Delhi, Mumbai, etcetera the population mainly used to live in appartments. Most of the people there are shifted from different parts of the country in look for better career options and higher studies in a cheaper cost as they need temporary accomodation shelter, appartments are good option for them.
It is also a very space effective option. As there is no large acres of lands or areas are required, they can be built on small areas also covering less space.
Pople perfer to live in appartments also because of the over crowded areas in the cities. Nowadays, about 45% of the large city's population is living in appartments and rest in permanent homes. According to my opinion appartments are better option to provide enough homes in large cities as they cover less space and can give accomodation to more people.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the opening—“I agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons for apartment blocks, including accommodating people moving to cities for work or study, providing a more affordable temporary option, and using less land. The examples of Delhi and Mumbai also help connect the argument to real urban contexts. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: the claim that apartments are “a very good source of income for the investors” is not clearly linked to providing enough homes, and the figure about 45% of city residents is unsupported. Develop the main reasons with clearer explanation and a specific example of how taller buildings increase housing capacity.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, several supporting points, an example paragraph, and a concluding statement. The ideas generally relate to your position, and phrases such as “It can also” and “In many areas” signal additions and examples. However, progression between points is sometimes loose. The investor-income point interrupts the discussion of affordability, while the paragraph about Indian cities combines migration, career opportunities, cost, and temporary accommodation without clearly separating these links. Some sentences begin with “As” but are left as fragments, which weakens the flow. Group related reasons into focused paragraphs and use clearer links to show how each reason supports the central claim.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “population,” “investors,” “temporary accommodation,” and “space effective.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “apartments,” “people,” and “accommodation.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, such as “difficullt,” “poppulation,” “appartments,” and “beacuse,” which reduce the accuracy of the writing. Some expressions are not natural in this context, including “in a cheaper cost” and “permanent homes.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully; this will make your argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, for example, “As they can shift anytime…” and the sentence describing people moving to cities for work or study. The main message is usually understandable, but some sentence structures are incomplete or awkward. “As they can shift anytime…” is a dependent clause presented as a sentence, and “As there is no large acres of lands or areas are required” has an unclear structure and agreement. There are also issues with articles, plurals, and punctuation, as in “appartments are good option” and “appartments.Most.” Practise completing dependent clauses and building longer sentences around one clear main clause, while checking agreement and sentence boundaries.
