Student answer (Band 4.0)

Nowadays, the biggest house in cities is to build tall apartment blocks has becomes an important subject of discussion. Some people belive that big house in city, while other argue that build tall apartment blocks. in my opinion, i belive that as room are very much small in compared to other apartment as develop as per builders.

Firstly, one of the main resons is that building a large house in city are more expensive as look a modern. this is because in future your investement are give a good sailing rate. As a result, as a building a apartment block as you divided into as per your requirement. therefore, this is an import factor to consider.

Secondly, another important point kis that building in apartment block as less access in the place. In addition, we need to maintained to consume for money or required a left to swift one place to other. For instance, building in a block as you can buld your house in plane area for maintaine and modified is very easy. this cleary shows that building a house in block apartment as more expansion then bulding in plane area.

In conclusion, althroung there are differet opinions about bulding a house, i belive that old house are more good and well maintaine and less maintaine expension. overall as per the market price a building a new house in block apartment are very difficuit to maintaine as more expensive as compared with old house having less expensive and easy to maintained the house.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You make an attempt to state a view, especially in “in my opinion” and the conclusion, and you give two body paragraphs with examples or explanations. However, the position is difficult to identify and does not consistently answer whether tall apartment blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. The opening shifts between “big house” and apartment blocks, while the conclusion argues that older houses are better and cheaper to maintain. The supporting points about investment, access, and building on a “plane area” are not clearly connected to housing supply in large cities, and their explanations are hard to follow. To strengthen the response, state clearly whether you agree or disagree, then develop relevant reasons—such as how high-rise housing accommodates more residents on limited land—and support each with a clear example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “Firstly” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. These paragraph breaks and basic linking words help the reader see an intended sequence. However, progression within paragraphs is often unclear, and connections between claims are not reliably expressed. For example, the first body paragraph moves from building costs to investment returns and then to dividing an apartment block “as per your requirement,” without showing how these points support the task. The second paragraph’s references to access, maintenance, and a “plane area” are similarly difficult to connect. Use one central idea per paragraph, explain it in a logical order, and make references explicit rather than relying on repeated “as” and “this.”

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You attempt some topic-related vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “investment,” “market price,” and “maintained,” and use basic signposting such as “In addition” and “As a result.” However, word choice, spelling, and collocation errors frequently make the intended meaning difficult to understand. Phrases such as “the biggest house in cities,” “good sailing rate,” “less access in the place,” and “more expansion” do not express the likely ideas clearly. There are also repeated forms such as “bulding” and “maintaine,” alongside imprecise repetition of “house” and “building.” Build a more accurate set of phrases for urban housing, such as “housing supply,” “high-rise development,” and “accommodate more residents,” and check spelling and collocations when editing.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You use some simple sentence patterns and attempt longer clauses with connectors such as “because,” “while,” and “as a result.” This shows an effort to vary sentence structure. However, control is inconsistent, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction often obscure meaning. Examples include “has becomes,” “one of the main resons is that building a large house … are,” and “we need to maintained.” Several sentences also lack a clear grammatical relationship between their clauses, as in “in my opinion, i belive that as room are very much small…” Practise building accurate subject–verb–object sentences first, then add one subordinate clause at a time. Check verb forms after modal verbs and ensure each sentence expresses a complete, clear idea.
