Student answer (Band 5.5)

NOWADAYS, IT IS THE BEST WAY TO PROVIDE ENOUGH HOMES IN LARGE CITIES IS TO CONSTRUCT TALL APARTMENT BLOCKS. BECAUSE THE CAUSE OF POPULATION INCREASING DAY BY DAY IN ALL COUNTRIES AND PEOPLE HAVE TO MIGRATE FROM THEIR HOME TOWNS OR VILLAGES TO CITIES FOR WORK. FROM MY PERSPECTIVE I BELIEVE THAT MAKING BIG APARTMENT SHOULD BE THE BEST WAY TO UTILISE THE SPACE OF CITIES IN BEST WAY TO PROVIDE BEST FACILITIES TOWARDS THE PEOPLE OF CITIES.

ON THE ONE HAND, PROVIDING BIG APARTMENT BULDING RATHER THAN SINGLE APARTMENT BULDING IS VERY IMPORTANT TO UTILISE THE AREA OF CITY BECAUSE IF WE PROVIDE SINGLE APARTMENT BULDINGS TO THE PEOPLE OF CITIES, SO THEY CAPTURE ALL THE CITY AREA BECAUSE MANY PEOPLE MIGRATE FROM THEIR HOME TOWNS TO THE CITIES FOR WORK AND STUDY PURPOSE. AND MAKING LARGE APPARTMENT SHOULD ALSO PRODUCE MINIMUM QUANTITY OF WASTE TOWARD THE ENVIRONMENT. FOR EXAMPLE, IF A FIMILY LIVE IN 1 ACER OF LAND AND OTHER LIVE IN 2 ACER OF LAND.SO FIRST FAMILY PRODUCE LOW POLLUTION AND OTHER GENERATE HIGH AS COMPARE TO FIRST FAMILY.

ON THE OTHER HAND, LARGE APARTMENT ALSO AFFORDABLE AND JOYFUL BECAUSE OF THE ENVIRONMENT OF THE AREA. BECAUSE THE PERSON WHO LIVED IN APARTMENTS SHOULD BE EMPLOYED OR A STUDENT WHO PREPARE FOR JOBS. SO THEY BOTH CAN EASILY CONNECT EACH OTHER AND THE EMPLOYEE PERSON CAN EASILY SUPPORT STUDENT TO DOING WELL IN THEIR STUDY AND ALSO CAN HELP IN THEIR DAILY LIFE.

IN CONCLUSION, I BELIEVE THAT MAKING LARGE APARTMENT IS VERY IMPORTANT TO UTILISE THE AREA OF CITIES AND ALSO IMPORTENT IN GENERATING OF POLLUTION CONTROL IN CITIES.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a clear position in favour of tall apartment blocks and give relevant reasons: they use limited urban land more efficiently and may reduce environmental impact. The example comparing families on different amounts of land attempts to support the pollution point, and the final paragraph restates your view. However, the response addresses the question only partially because the reasons are not explained convincingly or in enough detail. The claim that apartment residents can help one another with study and daily life is not clearly connected to why tall blocks are the best way to provide enough homes. Develop the housing argument with a specific explanation or example, and clarify how density affects land use and pollution. The response meets the required length; 12 words copied from the task prompt were excluded from the count.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader a basic route through your position and supporting points. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow: the first body paragraph moves from land use to waste and then to a comparison of pollution without clearly linking the steps. Several sentences begin with “Because,” “And,” or “So,” and connectors sometimes create incomplete or awkward relationships between ideas. Improve cohesion by making each paragraph focus on one reason, using clear topic sentences, and explaining how each example supports that reason. More precise referencing would also help readers follow who “they” refers to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “population,” “migrate,” “utilise the space,” “environment,” and “pollution.” These choices show an attempt to discuss urban housing and its effects. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, especially “large apartment” and “cities.” Word choice and collocation errors sometimes make the meaning unclear, such as “single apartment buildings” where you appear to mean separate or low-rise housing, and “produce minimum quantity of waste toward the environment.” There are also noticeable spelling errors, including “bulding,” “acer,” and “importent.” Build a more precise set of housing and environmental terms, and check spelling and natural word combinations before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt to connect ideas using clauses with “because” and “if,” and you include both simple statements and longer sentences. However, the range of structures is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, which can make relationships between ideas hard to understand. For example, “Nowadays, it is the best way … is to construct” has an incorrect sentence structure, while “Because the cause of population increasing” is not a complete sentence. There are frequent problems with verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, as in “a family live” and “the person who lived … should be employed.” Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them with correctly formed subordinate clauses and review punctuation.
