Student answer (Band 5.5)

In my own perspective, it is better to build a tall apartment blocks in the large cities. Hence, I agreed. The increasing number of people in the cities cannot able to live accordingly in the cities with minimal access to an apartment.

Most of the infranstracture created in the metro are tall building which help the people to have good space to live in. It will help to accommodate the large number of people to stay with enough blocks. There are many jobs offered in the metro and accessible transporation. Nearby salon, shops and office are mostly preferred by the livings. Most of the people preferred to live in the city to have a high salary. On the other hand, if the building are made by small apartment blocks, the environment possibly can be crowded and do not have proper space for people. For example, the apartment built by the builder with only one floor. It will only be a waste because there should be second. third, fourth or even fifth floor to facilitate families or couples. It will help to maximize the space in each area. Also, China are starting to enhance there buildings to help the increasing number of human beings in their country. In the contrast, if most of the apartments created in tall blocks, the possibility of dangerous collapsed are might occur if it is made of a cheaper materials. Also, the fresh air and sunlight will be lessen due to the massive apartments.

In my conclusion, the facility to build should be based in the population of each city. The highest population should made a blocks that will manage the people to live safely and comfortably. Hence, it is a great suggestion to properly look for the bigger apartments to facilitate those people who are planning to work in the cities.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You state a clear general position in favour of tall apartment blocks, and you give relevant reasons, including accommodating more residents and providing access to jobs and transport. You also acknowledge drawbacks such as possible collapse and reduced sunlight, which shows some consideration of the issue. However, the response only partly develops the question of whether this is the best way to provide enough homes. Several points are asserted rather than explained: for example, the one-floor-building example does not clearly show why tall blocks are preferable, and the safety concern is not followed by a response or qualification. Develop fewer ideas with clearer explanation and specific examples, and make your final position more precise about how safety and living conditions should be balanced against housing capacity.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an introduction, a main body and a conclusion, and the ideas generally relate to housing in cities. Linking expressions such as “On the other hand,” “For example,” and “In my conclusion” help signal relationships between points. However, the main body contains many ideas in one long paragraph, and the progression is difficult to follow: it moves from jobs and services to small buildings, then China, and then safety and sunlight. Some connections are unclear, particularly how the example of a one-floor apartment supports the argument. Use separate paragraphs for supporting reasons and counterarguments, and connect each example directly to the point it illustrates. Avoid relying on formulaic transitions when a clearer explanation of the relationship would guide the reader better.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “accommodate,” “population,” “accessible transportation,” and “sunlight,” so the reader can understand the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning less clear. Examples include “infranstracture created in the metro,” “the livings,” and “dangerous collapsed”; these do not express the intended ideas naturally. Spelling errors such as “transporation” and “there” for “their” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for housing and urban planning, and check spelling and collocations. For instance, describe “residents” rather than “livings,” and refer to “the risk of a building collapse” rather than “dangerous collapsed.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, including a conditional idea beginning “if the building are made…” and a sentence explaining that tall blocks “will help to accommodate” more people. However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence construction, sometimes making the reader pause. Examples include “I agreed,” “cannot able to live,” “the building are made,” and “China are starting.” The phrase “the possibility of dangerous collapsed are might occur” is especially difficult to interpret because several grammatical forms are combined incorrectly. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and verb patterns, and keep complex sentences controlled. Proofread each sentence for a clear subject and a correctly formed main verb.
