Student answer (Band 5.0)

In this era, A good house is the main concern of people living in big cities. In order to meet this target large cities are expanding at very high speed.Which could cause problem to farm land in the future. In my opinion, building tall apartment blocks could be a better solution to provide enough homes to people living in big cities. Because by doing this people can interact with each other more oftenly.

In apartment blocks people can enjoy different services at one place. The reason is that apartment building has a shared park. Where can people can go for a walk and meet with other residents. By doing this, they can relieve their strees and also share a lot of useful ideas with the other community members. So i am living in a village thats why i have to travel to a park in order to do walk and get rid of anxiety.

The second reason is that apartment blocks are the gated communinty where the childrens can play freely and I dont have to worry about any road accident that can happen with the childrens also the childrens can enjoy good time playing with their friends.

In conclusion, in order to get rid of city expansion and have a better lifestyle where I can have anything at walking distance and have places to enjoy foods and not have to worried about the childrens the apartment blocks are the best option we can choose.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You give a clear overall view that tall apartment blocks are a good solution, and you offer relevant reasons, including shared parks, social contact and safer places for children to play. However, the response only partially develops the question of whether this is the best way to provide enough homes. The points focus mainly on lifestyle benefits, with little explanation of how high-rise construction accommodates more residents or compares with alternatives. The opening concern about urban expansion and farmland is not developed, and the conclusion repeats benefits rather than weighing the claim. The response is also 7 words below the required minimum. Develop the housing-capacity argument and support each reason with a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The sequence from shared facilities to children’s safety is understandable, and phrases such as “The second reason” help signal a new point. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes disrupted by sentence fragments and unclear links. For example, “Which could cause problem to farm land” is detached from the preceding sentence, while “Where can people can go for a walk” does not connect smoothly to the claim about shared parks. The conclusion also introduces several benefits in a crowded sentence. Use complete sentences, make each paragraph develop one main reason, and connect examples explicitly to the argument.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “apartment blocks,” “shared park,” “residents” and “road accident.” There are also attempts at more specific expressions such as “relieve their stress” and “city expansion.” However, the range is limited and some word choices or forms are inaccurate, which makes the writing less natural: “more oftenly,” “strees,” “communinty” and “get rid of anxiety” are examples. Repetition of “people,” “children” and “good” also limits precision. Build a wider set of accurate terms for housing and urban planning, and check spelling and collocations. For instance, describe how blocks “accommodate residents” rather than relying mainly on general lifestyle language.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer structures, including “In order to meet this target…” and a sentence explaining the shared park’s benefits. However, the range remains limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. Sentence boundaries are a recurring problem: “Which could cause problem to farm land” and “Where can people can go…” are fragments or incomplete constructions. There are also errors in articles, agreement and verb patterns, as in “apartment building has a shared park,” “the childrens can play,” and “not have to worried.” Capitalisation and punctuation are inconsistent, including “In this era, A good house” and missing spaces after full stops. Practise joining clauses accurately and proofreading sentence boundaries, articles and verb forms.
