Student answer (Band 5.0)

I agree and disagree with this statement. By building high building apartments will create more living opportunities for people but this will also create over crowding in one place. All the people in the tall apartments must shop somewhere, this means that there will have to be enough infrastructure and shopping mall for these capacity of people.

By agreeing on this terms means more places for people to live and it will create safe homes for people l, but disagreeing with this statements, means that there will be to many people in one place and this will cause the community to suffer from all these overloading in the economy. By outting more shopping malls up means more work for people so this can be a very good choice in building but to over populate a place can also negatively influence the community and the infrustracture of the place.

I think they should rather built more wide spread complexes and make it more safe for people as to the tall apartments. Tall apartments causes havok and makes it overcrowiding.

By looking at the environment we stay at and how it effects the children, I feel people need more open spaces and children needs space to run and play. Tall apartment are cramped up and no place for children to play. Where when you look at a complex, children play together in parks, people engage with one another and its more safe in places where people feel good to live in. I feel children must have the opportunity to still play outside

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the topic and give a recognisable, though mixed, position: tall apartments can provide more homes, but you prefer “more wide spread complexes” because they offer safer, more open environments for children. The points about overcrowding, infrastructure and play space are relevant. However, the response does not consistently explain how these considerations establish the best way to provide enough homes, and the claim that tall apartments “causes havok” is asserted rather than supported. Your position also shifts from “agree and disagree” to preferring complexes, so the extent of your agreement is not fully clear. State your view directly in the introduction and develop two reasons with specific explanation or an example to make the argument more complete.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some organisation: the response moves from the housing and infrastructure issue to a preference for complexes, then discusses children’s need for open space. Basic links such as “but,” “By agreeing,” and “Where when” show attempts to connect ideas. However, progression is not consistently clear, and several points are repeated, especially overcrowding and the benefits of complexes. The second paragraph combines housing capacity, employment, safety and infrastructure without clearly showing how each point relates to the main argument. Some linking phrases are awkward or unclear, and the final sentence feels unfinished. Use a clearer paragraph plan—position, one developed reason per paragraph, and a conclusion—and make each transition express the relationship between ideas precisely.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “infrastructure,” “overcrowding,” “community,” and “open spaces,” which helps communicate the main concerns. However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, such as “tall apartments,” “people,” and “place.” Some word choices or collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “living opportunities,” “these capacity of people,” and “overloading in the economy.” Spelling errors such as “outting,” “infrustracture,” and “overcrowiding” also reduce accuracy. Build a more precise vocabulary for urban housing and explain ideas with natural combinations, for example “housing capacity,” “public services,” and “residential density.” Proofreading for spelling and choosing familiar, accurate collocations will make your meaning easier to follow.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a conditional structure in “By building high building apartments will create more living opportunities … but this will also create over crowding.” However, the range is limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. For example, “By building … will create” lacks a clear grammatical subject, while “Tall apartment causes” has a subject–verb agreement problem. Other errors include “there will be to many people,” “children needs,” and “they should rather built.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation also need attention, as the final thought is left incomplete. Practise forming complete clauses with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, verb forms and sentence endings. More accurate control of these basics will make your argument clearer.
