Student answer (Band 4.5)
The best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall appartment blocks. Because in cities there are very less place to make enough houces for every family. So, according to me makin apartment blocks is the best way to menage the requirements of the increasing population.
if people live in apartment block. So we can preserve more land then twenty to thirty house. Then we use this place for further more requirements of the society. Just like making grousry stores and hospitals. In big cities people should be aware of living in that socities that are department on appartments. It is the best way to manage the increasing population .
In my opinion , if people are living in appartment like socities the are more sceored from the theifs and looters. Because these socities have a very good defense system.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You take a clear position in favour of apartment blocks and give two relevant reasons: they use less land, leaving space for facilities such as grocery stores and hospitals, and residents may feel safer because of security systems. However, these points are only briefly stated; the comparison with houses and the safety claim need explanation or a specific example. The response also does not explore any limitation or alternative, so the discussion of the extent of your agreement remains minimal. Most importantly, the response is 130 words, below the required 250 words; 14 words copied from the prompt are excluded. Develop each reason with explanation and an example, and add a fuller conclusion to address the task more completely.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some basic organisation: the opening states your view, the next section gives the land-use argument, and the final section introduces safety. This helps the reader identify your main points. However, progression is limited because the ideas are not developed into a clear sequence of claim, explanation and example. Several sentences begin with “So,” and the fragment “Because in cities…” does not connect smoothly to the opening. The shift to “In my opinion” also repeats your position rather than advancing the discussion. Use distinct paragraphs for your position, each supporting reason and a conclusion, and connect ideas with accurate, varied transitions and clear references.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some task-relevant vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “increasing population,” “land,” “hospitals” and “defense system,” so the main ideas can generally be understood. However, the range is basic and several spelling and word-choice errors make the writing less clear, such as “appartment,” “houces,” “menage,” “grousry stores” and “socities.” Some expressions are also unnatural, including “very less place” and “further more requirements.” Aim to use accurate, natural phrases for urban housing and services, and check spelling carefully. More precise vocabulary would help you explain the benefits of high-density housing without relying on repeated general terms such as “best way” and “requirements.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
Your writing relies mainly on short, simple statements, with a few attempts to link clauses using “because” and “if.” These attempts show some effort to vary sentence structure, but they are often incomplete or faulty. For example, “Because in cities there are very less place…” is a fragment, and “if people live in apartment block. So we can preserve…” incorrectly separates a dependent clause from its result. There are also problems with articles, plurals and agreement, as in “apartment block” and “the are more sceored.” Use complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and practise joining reasons and results in one sentence. Greater control of basic sentence patterns is needed before adding more complex structures.
