Student answer (Band 5.5)
Many people believe that the best way to provide enough homes in large cities is to build tall apartment blocks while other believe the quiet opposite. I personally support the former believe despite the danger that gets caused due to large buildings and the constant increment in population that cause pollution.
According to some articles, Making tall appartments blocks have increased the risk of destruction of tall appartment due to natural disasters. Furthermore, The basic facility like water, food will be hard for local government to fulfill. People from random areas will be migrating towards city to experience the appartment life which then increase population of the city. As appartment life is trending day by day people would be lined to get home on a appartment which will increase need and also as there would be hundreds of floors which will increse risks of several disasters mostly for crest flats.
In Contrast, Many articles have proved that building tall appartment blocks have actually minimize several problems. Appartment just take small land but provide several families a suitable living spaces. Contrastingly, a home or villa would take larger area but provide housing for small number of people . Parks, gyms, pools, theaters and basic facilities are available in the same appartment with safety for large number of families. High rise building have actually improved tourism also by making appartments fancier and by providing every basic entities for human life.
It's plausible that appartments do provide homes for large number of families at the same time with different facilities. All things have two sides same with appartment but advantages will surely succeed all the negative impacts.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you support tall apartment blocks, and you acknowledge risks before explaining their advantages. The response addresses both sides of the question, with relevant points about land use, housing capacity, facilities, and disaster risks. However, some ideas are asserted rather than explained. For example, the claim that high-rise buildings improve tourism is not connected clearly to providing enough homes, and the discussion of population growth and pressure on water and food needs a more precise link to your position. Develop the strongest points with a specific example or explanation of how high-rise construction can meet housing demand while managing its drawbacks.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph presenting concerns, a contrasting paragraph supporting apartments, and a conclusion. Connectors such as “Furthermore” and “In Contrast” help signal relationships between ideas. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several claims are crowded together, and some links are mechanical or unclear. For instance, the movement from migration to apartment demand and then to disaster risks is not fully explained. The conclusion repeats the general position rather than drawing together the main reasons. Organise each body paragraph around one central point, use clearer links between cause and effect, and ensure references such as “all things” have a precise meaning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “natural disasters,” “local government,” “population,” “facilities,” and “high-rise building.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main argument, but the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive. “Basic entities for human life” is unclear, while “lined to get home on a apartment” does not express the intended idea naturally. Spelling errors such as “appartment,” “increse,” and “crest” also make the writing less clear. Build a more precise vocabulary for housing and urban planning, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a concession in “despite the danger…” and a contrast introduced by “while.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to understand. Examples include “other believe” and “the constant increment in population that cause pollution,” where agreement is incorrect, as well as “building tall appartment blocks have actually minimize,” which has problems with the verb form and agreement. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “on a appartment” and the long sentence beginning “As appartment life is trending.” Practise checking subject–verb agreement, verb forms, articles, and punctuation, then divide overloaded sentences into clearer units.
