Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You take a position by saying, “I partically agree,” and you mention relevant issues such as housing provision, rented homes, and the need for space for roads, hospitals and parks. However, the response only partially answers the question: it does not clearly explain when or why tall apartment blocks are the best solution, and several points are difficult to interpret, such as “available too much homes.” The conclusion is unfinished, so your final position is not reinforced. The response is also 39 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop and support your reasons. To strengthen the answer, explain both the benefits and drawbacks of building upwards, then support each with a clear example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
Your response has an introduction, two body paragraphs beginning with “On the one hand” and “On the other hand,” and a conclusion, so there is an attempt to organise the discussion. You also use linking expressions such as “For instance” and “Therefore.” However, the ideas do not progress clearly: the first body paragraph shifts between wealthy people, rented apartments and government housing without showing how these points connect. The second paragraph’s contrast is also unclear, and the conclusion stops mid-sentence. Some connectors, especially repeated “However” and “Therefore,” feel mechanical rather than showing precise relationships. Give each paragraph one main point, explain it in a logical sequence, and use referencing and linking words only where their meaning is clear.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You attempt vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “apartment blocks,” “rented,” “facilities,” “infrastructure,” and “available.” These choices show an effort to discuss housing and city planning, but the range is basic and several word forms, spellings or combinations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning unclear. Examples include “moderan,” “appartment,” “infracture,” and “rular,” as well as the unclear phrase “available too much homes.” Repetition of “big cities,” “homes” and “good way” also limits precision. Build a topic vocabulary set and check spelling and collocations; for example, use “housing supply,” “high-rise buildings,” and “urban infrastructure” where appropriate. Aim to express each idea with a precise phrase rather than repeating general words.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including a sentence introduced by “because” and examples introduced by “For instance.” However, control of sentence structure and basic grammar is inconsistent, and errors often make the intended meaning difficult to follow. For example, “there are too much homes” has a quantifier and agreement problem, while “some people is rich” has subject–verb disagreement. In “government gave home,” the verb form and article are not controlled, and several sentences lack a clear grammatical structure. The conclusion, “I partically agree because I beleaved tha,” is incomplete. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, countable nouns and articles, then build longer sentences from clear, complete clauses.
