Student answer (Band 5.5)

The best way to provide enough home in bigger cities is to construct tall apartments blocks. I partially agree with this statement because, it helps public to find accommodation very easily. Whereas, in some locations it is not possible to build a tall buildings due to, land is limited to build only certian floors. If it goes beyond the limit it might collapse in the future.

In recent days, most of the people who are switching their entire lives from rural to urban locations. On the other hand, in this case tall apartment blocks will help them to find homes easily without facing any challenges. For instance, most of the corporate employees working in banglore are facing troubles in finding rented flats consequently, having these kind of apartments will avoid them to waste their energy. Additionally, these flats provide better facilities suchas, water, playstation for children and great security.

In contrast, there few drawbacks for this trend ought to, if they construct a tall apartment without any legal notice there are more chances to collapse in up coiming days. Before constructing any building they should go through how is the geographical sitruation of that land. For example, the authorities approve only for certain floors whereas, these constructors will build beyond that level they have got approved. In addition, gain more benefits from these homes.

In conclusion, these trend brings both merits and drawbacks. However, It aids public to get an flat without no time they should check the legal documents before moving flat or apartments.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a partially agreeing position and address both the benefits and risks of tall apartment blocks. The points about accommodating people moving to cities and providing facilities are relevant, as is the concern that buildings may exceed what the land or approved plans can safely support. However, the position is not consistently explained: the opening says tall buildings may be impossible in some places, while the conclusion mainly advises checking legal documents. Several ideas remain under-developed, especially the claim that land permits only certain floors and the unfinished point about constructors seeking “more benefits.” Explain more clearly when high-rise housing is suitable and compare it with other ways of increasing housing supply. A more direct, fully supported answer to what is the “best way” would strengthen the response.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting points, and a conclusion, so the reader can identify its broad structure. Examples and signposts such as “For instance,” “In contrast,” and “In conclusion” also help indicate the intended direction. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the final sentence of the third paragraph, “In addition, gain more benefits from these homes,” is incomplete and does not clearly connect to the preceding safety point. Some linking expressions are used inaccurately or mechanically, including “Whereas” after the opening claim and “consequently” in the example about employees. Make each paragraph develop one clear central idea, and use transitions only where the relationship between ideas is clear.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “accommodation,” “rented flats,” “geographical situation,” and “legal documents,” and the reader can generally understand the intended discussion. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “provide enough home,” “switching their entire lives,” and “avoid them to waste their energy.” Spelling and form errors, including “certian,” “banglore,” and “up coiming,” also reduce precision. Aim to learn common housing and urban-planning collocations, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise expressions would help you explain the benefits and safety concerns without relying on repeated general terms such as “homes,” “build,” and “benefits.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, for example by using “because” to explain your position and “whereas” to introduce a contrast. However, errors are frequent, and some sentences are difficult to follow. The opening has faulty punctuation and structure in “I partially agree with this statement because, it helps public,” while “most of the people who are switching” is an incomplete clause. Other examples include “there few drawbacks,” “they should go through how is the geographical situation,” and the unfinished “In addition, gain more benefits.” Articles, plurals, agreement, and clause construction also need attention. Practise writing complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, then check each sentence for correct word order and punctuation.
