Student answer (Band 5.5)
it's often argued that building tall apartments is the solution of the problem of crowded citities. i completly disagree with this view because with the influence of this phenomenon it will no more green places in cities also if all people left rural ares il will not be equality.
one of the main resons why i appose this view is that with the over spread of this phenomenon citilss will not find how to breath as the green places and trees are the lung of the earth. so it will no places where people can go relax and take a break from daily routines. also the sky will be covered the the tall buildings
another important reason why i disagree with this view is that rural ares will be empty. as a result there is no one to take care of the farming and this may affect even the economy of the city. added to that not all of them can find a work at city as a result we find the increase of poverty
in conclution, i firmly believe that true that in cities there are more opportunites but the big uses of tall apartment can affect negatively people due to the lack of green spaces and the disaquality between city and rural ares

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you disagree with relying on tall apartment blocks, and you give two relevant concerns—loss of green space and the effects of people leaving rural areas. However, the response addresses the task only partially because these points are asserted rather than sufficiently explained or supported with examples. For instance, you say that fewer rural residents could affect farming and increase poverty, but do not show how this would happen or provide a specific example. The conclusion repeats your position but does not add a developed final insight. The response is also 35 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to develop your reasons. Extend each main point with explanation and a relevant example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion. This makes your line of argument generally easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “one of the main reasons,” “another important reason,” “as a result,” and “in conclusion.” However, some connections feel mechanical or unclear. In the second body paragraph, for example, the move from rural areas becoming empty to poverty in cities needs a clearer explanation. The sentence about the sky being covered by buildings is also added without showing how it supports the paragraph’s main point. Use linking phrases selectively and make the relationship between each claim and its supporting explanation explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use a small range of topic-relevant vocabulary, including “green places,” “daily routines,” “farming,” “economy,” and “poverty,” so the reader can identify your main concerns. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “citilss,” “appose,” and “disaquality.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “the solution of the problem” and “the big uses of tall apartment.” Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For example, you could describe “the loss of urban green space” and refer to “the widespread construction of high-rise apartments.” This would make your argument clearer and more appropriate to an academic essay.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, using structures such as “because” and “as a result,” and you include both simple statements and more complex explanations. However, the range is limited, and errors in sentence construction, verb forms, articles, and punctuation occur frequently enough to affect clarity. For example, “it will no more green places in cities” lacks a complete grammatical structure, while “if all people left rural ares il will not be equality” has problems with clause formation and verb choice. Capitalisation is also inconsistent, with sentences beginning in lowercase. Practise building accurate sentences with a clear subject and verb, and use full stops to separate ideas when a longer sentence becomes difficult to control.
