Student answer (Band 5.5)
Nowadays citizens are more font of living in a big cities because of the opportunities that are available in the cities. To adjust the population into cities , the perfect way is to make tall buildings so that each individual gets their homes.
I totally agree with the statement, cities are congested with various shops, offices and footpaths, therefore making a one apartment block for each individuals is very tough.Instead of doing that,if all the individuals fits into one tall apartment blocks then that will be more convenient.
As cities are full of vehicles so it needs wide space for roads so that vehicles can pass through comfortably. Building a multiple storied buildings can save the space for road also thousands of people can fit into one building.
There are also lots of corporate buildings in towns.People have moved to towns just because of the wider opportunities so corporate offices should be large enough for the employee to work comfortably. If making tall apartments can save space then that space can be optimize to build a large corporate offices. As thousand of people can live into a tall apartments it can help them to interact with multiple communities where they can share culture among themselves.
It has some disavantages too. If earthquake happens there is a high risk for the people whose living there. However this problem can be solved by using technology. In this modern era, this problem can be solved.
In conclusion, i think that by building tall apartments can provide homes to every individuals in large towns and those saved space can use in other purposes..

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you state that you “totally agree” and conclude that tall apartments can provide homes while freeing space for other uses. You give relevant reasons, including accommodating more residents, preserving road space, and making room for offices, and you acknowledge earthquake risk. However, some points are more fully addressed than others. The claim that tall buildings make roads easier to provide is asserted rather than explained, and the corporate-office discussion shifts attention away from how housing supply is best increased. The earthquake point is also dismissed with a general reference to technology, without an example or explanation. Develop each main reason with a specific illustration and clarify why high-rise construction is preferable to alternatives.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a coherent overall arrangement: it introduces the issue, presents supporting reasons, considers a disadvantage, and ends with a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and connectors such as “Instead,” “As,” and “However” show relationships between ideas. At times, though, progression is weakened by mechanical or unclear links. For example, the move from saving road space to discussing corporate offices is abrupt, and “As cities are full of vehicles so” combines cause markers awkwardly. The conclusion repeats the main claim but does not bring the reasons together. Use clearer topic sentences and make each paragraph develop one central point, with references that show how each sentence connects to the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use vocabulary relevant to urban development, including “congested,” “corporate buildings,” “opportunities,” and “communities,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are noticeably inaccurate, which sometimes makes the reader pause. Examples include “more font of living,” “fits into one tall apartment blocks,” and “space can be optimize.” Repetition of “tall apartments,” “space,” and “cities” also limits flexibility. Aim to learn common collocations for housing and urban planning, and check word forms and spelling when editing. More precise alternatives would help you express the argument naturally without changing its meaning.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a conditional idea in “If earthquake happens there is a high risk” and a concession introduced by “However.” This gives the response some structural variety, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. Some errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence construction remain, however. For instance, “each individuals” should use a singular noun, while “all the individuals fits” has a subject–verb agreement problem; “a tall apartments” also mixes singular and plural forms. Punctuation spacing and sentence boundaries need attention, as in “statement, cities” and the final sentence, which is awkwardly constructed. Practise accurate basic clauses first, then build complex sentences and proofread agreement and articles.
