Student answer (Band 5.5)
In recent years, the question of whether building tall apartment blocks is the best way to provide enough homes in large cities has sparked considerable debate. I agree with this statement because this approach will save more space and accomodate many individuals. While empty land can be used for constructing parks or for planting trees to give citizens good environment.
To begin with, big cities are currently facing population book due to more educational and careers prospects that's why more residential buildings are needed. The best solution to provide homes is by constructing mutli story residential apartments. For instance, a clear illustration of this can be seen in Karachi where population is growing everyday and to tackle this situation developers are constructing high-rise buildings. A perfect example of this is Giga residential complex in defence housing scheme which is house of many individuals. This building alone saves the many kanals of land which can be use for other purposes.
Furthermore, another compelling argument is that these building are designed and build by certified civil engineering companies and contributes positively to ecosystem rather than building houses by local masons which are proving costly to our environment. For example, every tall housing apartment have park, garden and they are tested every year by government concerned department to check their pollution contribution which general houses do not have to follow these protocols.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear in the introduction: you agree that tall apartment blocks can provide homes while saving land. The Karachi example and the point that saved land could serve other purposes are relevant, but the supporting ideas are not developed enough to fully answer the question. In particular, the claim that apartment buildings benefit the ecosystem is asserted rather than explained, and the comparison with houses built by local masons is unclear. The conclusion is also cut off at “this approach yields signifi…”, so it does not complete your response. The response is below the required 250 words, which limits the space available to develop your reasons and examples. Explain the mechanisms behind each claim and finish with a complete conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and an attempted conclusion. “To begin with” and “Furthermore” help signal the main points, and the Karachi example follows the first argument. However, progression is uneven: the opening sentence beginning “While empty land…” is a fragment, and the second body paragraph moves from certified companies to parks and pollution checks without clearly showing how these points support the main claim. Some links are also mechanical, such as repeated use of “For example” and “A perfect example.” The final sentence is incomplete, leaving the ending abrupt. Use one clear central idea per paragraph, explain the connection between evidence and claim, and provide a complete concluding sentence.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some topic-relevant vocabulary, including “residential apartments,” “high-rise buildings,” “population,” and “ecosystem,” and the meaning is generally recoverable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “a compelling argument” and “a clear illustration.” However, several noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision: “population book” appears to mean “population boom,” “mutli story” is misspelled, and “house of many individuals” is an unnatural expression. Phrases such as “good environment” and “pollution contribution” are also imprecise. Aim for accurate collocations and check spelling, especially in key topic vocabulary. More precise wording would make your arguments sound clearer and more academic.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “because” and a relative clause in “which is house of many individuals.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. The opening “While empty land can be used…” is a dependent clause without a main clause. There are also agreement and verb-form problems in “these building are designed and build” and “every tall housing apartment have,” as well as an incorrect form in “which can be use.” The sentence beginning “To begin with” contains a run-on connection between ideas. Practise complete sentence construction, subject–verb agreement, and consistent verb forms, then proofread each sentence for a clear main clause.
