Student answer (Band 5.0)

Well i totally agree with this statement, In many large cities there is a server shortage of housing due to rapid populationg. Some people argue constucting tall apartment blocks is the most effective solution. I largerly agree with this because if they tall apartments then many families lives there.

On the one hand building high rise apartment is very practical way to solve thiss problem. Firstly lands in big citites like Lahore, Karachi and Londond is extremely expensive and limited.By building vertically we can accommodate hundreds of families on a small piece of land. For example a 20 storey building can house 5 or 6 independent houses could be built

However all tall apartment blocks are the only one solution. Living in high rise buildings can be crowded and it may effect peoples how work online by sitting at there home. So we should bhuilt houses according to peoples needs. We can also built houses in two ways .In one building those peoples live who are jobless and uneducated so they feel comfortable by living with there peoples.

In conclusion i agree that building tall apartment blocks is one of the best and more effective ways to provide homes in large cities

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear position in the introduction and conclusion, agreeing that tall apartment blocks are an effective way to provide homes. The point about expensive, limited land and accommodating many families vertically is relevant, and the examples of Lahore, Karachi and London help anchor the discussion. However, the response addresses the issue only partially: the second body paragraph introduces crowding and housing for people who are jobless or uneducated, but these points are unclear and not convincingly connected to the question. The example about a 20-storey building is also incomplete. The response is 48 words below the required minimum, which limits the space available to explain and support your ideas. Develop each reason with a clear explanation and a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “However,” and a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, progression between ideas is not consistently clear. The second body paragraph shifts from the possible drawbacks of high-rise living to a proposal about housing jobless and uneducated people, without explaining the relationship between them. Some linking is also mechanical, and the example in the first body paragraph ends without a complete explanation. To improve, make each paragraph develop one central point, use clear references to connect sentences, and explain how each example supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “shortage of housing,” “high rise apartment,” “accommodate,” and “limited,” so the main subject is generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors make parts difficult to follow, such as “server shortage,” “populationg,” “constucting,” and “citites.” Some phrases are also unnatural or imprecise, including “if they tall apartments” and “people who are jobless and uneducated.” Aim to use accurate collocations and more precise housing-related language, such as “build high-rise apartments,” “rapid population growth,” and “affordable housing.” Proofreading spelling and choosing words that express your intended meaning clearly would make your argument easier to understand.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, for example, “By building vertically we can accommodate hundreds of families on a small piece of land.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently enough to affect clarity. In “if they tall apartments then many families lives there,” the conditional structure and subject–verb agreement are faulty. Other examples include “lands … is,” “a 20 storey building can house 5 or 6 independent houses could be built,” and “it may effect peoples how work online.” Sentence boundaries and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly where sentences run together after commas or full stops. Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, and check agreement, articles, and punctuation.
