Student answer (Band 4.0)
Latelly we notice that our cities has to build tall apartment blocks just to provide enough homes specially with the increase of population density
I do disagree with this tall building beacause we going to lose our environment and losing that means losing green area were to walk or were can our children play
adding to that tall buildings in a small city means a lot of working space so more people and more traffic in roads so that produce a stressful day

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0
You give a clear disagreement and identify relevant concerns: loss of green space for walking and children’s play, as well as increased traffic and stress. These points show an attempt to answer the question, but the response is far too brief to develop them or explain why tall apartment blocks are not the best way to provide enough homes. The claim that they create “a lot of working space” is unclear, and there is no supporting example or consideration of alternatives. The response also falls 167 words short of the required minimum. To strengthen your answer, explain each reason with a cause-and-effect link, give a relevant example, and make your position clear in a developed conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5
The ideas follow a basic sequence: you state your disagreement, describe the possible loss of green areas, and then add a concern about traffic and stress. The phrases “adding to that” and “so” attempt to connect these points, giving the short response some progression. However, the ideas are compressed into one paragraph, and the links between them are not always clear; for example, the connection between tall buildings, “a lot of working space,” and more traffic needs explanation. There is no developed introduction or conclusion to guide the reader. Use separate paragraphs for your position and supporting reasons, and connect each claim to its explanation with clear, accurate linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use some relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “population density,” “green area,” “traffic,” and “stressful,” so the main concerns can be understood. However, the range is narrow and several expressions are imprecise or awkward, such as “a lot of working space” and “lose our environment.” Spelling errors in “Latelly” and “beacause” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise topic language, such as “green spaces,” “urban congestion,” and “residential development,” and check spelling carefully. Expanding your vocabulary for housing and city planning would help you explain your ideas more clearly and avoid repeating basic terms.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
The response communicates a basic position, and you attempt to link ideas in longer sentences using “because” and “so.” However, grammatical control is inconsistent. For example, “our cities has to build” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “we going to lose” is missing an auxiliary verb. The sentence beginning “I do disagree with this tall building” is also structurally unclear, and the final sentence joins several ideas without clear punctuation. Most sentence patterns are simple, with little evidence of controlled complex structures. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete verb forms, then build longer sentences using a clear main clause and a supporting clause.
