Student answer (Band 4.5)

There is debate going on about best ways to provide enough homes in large cities.I partly agree with the statement because it may be a best idea to build tall apartment blocks in large cities to provide enough homes but the home may be fell incounjest and may feel small.

Most of people disagree with building tall towers to reduce the space in the cities. People loves to live in a spacious house rather than a small house, Although tall buildings will reduce the space for square meter it will contribute to build other infrastructure such as parks, roads, and other facilities to the people. Now a days most of the officies are build in the skyscapers to enhance their visibility and marketing thier brand. For example the tallest building of the world which is located in Dubai is providing enough homes in the city

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You give a partly agreeing position and mention a relevant concern: tall apartments may feel small or crowded. You also suggest that building upwards can leave room for parks, roads, and other facilities. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: the reasons are brief, and the example about Dubai’s tallest building does not clearly show how it provides enough homes or why this is the best approach. The discussion also shifts to offices and marketing without explaining their relevance to housing. The required minimum length is not met, so there is too little development to support your position. Explain both the benefits and limitations of high-rise housing, then support each point with a specific, relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic line of thought: you introduce partial agreement, raise a concern about space, and then mention possible benefits of building upwards. The use of “For example” also signals an attempt to support an idea. However, the response has no clear paragraph development, and the connection between points is often difficult to follow. For instance, the move from residents preferring spacious homes to offices in skyscrapers does not establish a clear link to the housing question. Some sentences run together without spaces after full stops, and “Although” begins a clause that is not smoothly connected to the rest of the sentence. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, with clear links between each idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “apartment blocks,” “infrastructure,” “parks,” and “facilities,” which helps communicate the general subject. There is also an attempt to use more specific terms such as “skyscrapers” and “visibility.” However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or misspelled choices make parts of the response harder to understand. Examples include “incounjest,” “officies,” “skyscapers,” and “thier”; “reduce the space for square meter” is also an unclear expression. Some wording, such as “a best idea,” is not natural in this context. Build a more accurate set of housing-related phrases and check spelling and collocations so your ideas are expressed precisely.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a sentence beginning “Although tall buildings…” and a reason introduced by “because.” These attempts show some range, but complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make reading difficult. For example, “Most of people disagree” is missing an article, while “People loves” has subject–verb disagreement. In “the home may be fell,” the verb form is incorrect, and “the tallest building … is providing enough homes” uses an awkward tense construction. Punctuation and sentence boundaries also need attention, as several sentences are joined or run together. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and verb forms before adding more complex clauses.
