Student answer (Band 5.5)

These days, some people thinks built large and comfortable apartment in big cities are the best way to provide enough homes to public.I strongly agree with this statement and I will support my opinion with examples.

To commence with, almost large amount of developed cities population lives in apartment beacuse the apartment are the best way to live in community and relate with other people. For example, nowadays mostly every community have their own security sytem and playing facilities such as,indoor gaming and table tennis which provide essential living facilities. This is the main reason younger genenration lives in apartment because they feels safe in apartment also people communicates with each other.Futhermore, the apartment is available in cheaper prices as compare to houses also people bought apartment with less income and make their family live better.

On the flip side,in highly densily populated cities such as,Lahore,Mumbai and Karachi the most common problem is area because these cities handle large amount of people and they no area to build commercial or household project. For example, the local authorities accept the builders or small town housing scheme and they covered the large area for building houses,But in case if they built apartment which covers less area and many families lives there it is good for saving area for future project. That why government should banned the housing authorities in big cities to save area for apartment.

In conclusion,it is a common belief that buliding apartment is the easiest way to provide enough homes to people.I also agree that apartment is available in cheaper price as compare to houses which is a good change

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you strongly agree that apartment blocks can provide homes, and you give relevant reasons about affordability, shared facilities and saving land in crowded cities. The examples of Lahore, Mumbai and Karachi help connect the argument to real urban pressures. However, the response addresses the claim only partially because it does not fully explain why tall apartment blocks are the best solution compared with other approaches, and several points remain under-developed. For instance, the claim that apartments are cheaper is asserted but not supported with a specific explanation or example. The conclusion repeats your view but adds little synthesis. To strengthen the response, explain how vertical building increases housing capacity and develop each reason with a clear, specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting supporting points, and a conclusion. Paragraphing generally groups related ideas, and signposts such as “To commence with,” “For example,” and “In conclusion” show an effort to guide the reader. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow. The second body paragraph begins “On the flip side,” although it continues to support apartment construction rather than presenting a contrasting view. Some links are also unclear, as in the move from security and facilities to affordability. Repeated use of “For example” and “also” makes cohesion mechanical. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, and connect each example explicitly to that point.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to urban housing, including “densely populated cities,” “security system,” “housing scheme,” and “commercial” projects. These choices show an attempt to discuss the topic beyond very basic terms. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts of the argument less clear, such as “large amount of developed cities population,” “available in cheaper prices,” and “save area for apartment.” Spelling errors, including “beacuse,” “sytem,” “gen enration” (written as “genenration”), and “buliding,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for precise phrases such as “a large proportion of the population,” “at a lower price,” and “preserve land for housing.” Proofreading and learning common housing collocations would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “which,” and “if.” This gives the response some structural variety. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors in agreement, verb forms, articles and sentence construction can make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “some people thinks,” “the apartment are,” “people communicates,” and “many families lives there.” The sentence beginning “For example, nowadays mostly every community…” also contains several grammatical problems that obscure its point. Punctuation and spacing are inconsistent, particularly around commas and sentence boundaries. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and building one clear main clause before adding subordinate information.
