Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the recent years, the growth of urban population in the major cities has created a serious demand for urban housing needs. Some people believe that building tall apartment's in these urban cites is a great option for the growing population in these area. I totally agree with the given statement. My preference is justified further along with relevant examples.
The increase in migration of high number of people from rural area to urban areas has created a huge housing problem.People from all over the country come to these cities for better jobs and quality of living but the city's location is limited and not all can have a space of their own. To provide large tall apartments is one of the best options for this problem, as large number of people can have a home in a very limited space. Also this helps large number of people to stay at one place and travel to their work place easily. For instance, Large cities like Mumbai has large apartment's nearly 40 to 50 story buildings , where large number of people stay. For the ease of these people healthcare and public transport facility's are given near the apartment to make their daily life more convenient.
Secondly it is also believed that this will help families to bond together as they will be nearby. For Example, a survey conducted in Mumbai said that people who lived in apartments have a greater social life compare to the people living in individual homes. They tend to participate in festivals and community programs together which boosts their social happiness.
In conclusion, I believe that tall apartments are indeed a great way to provide housing in the urban cities as they can in very limited space provide homes to a very large number of families and also give them social happiness.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I totally agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons: tall buildings can house many people on limited land, and shared residential spaces may encourage social interaction. The Mumbai examples help make these points concrete. This meets the task well, but the support is uneven: the housing-capacity argument is explained more fully, while the claim that apartment living helps families bond is supported mainly by a brief survey reference. The response also focuses on benefits without considering any limitation or explaining why tall blocks are the best option compared with alternatives. Develop the second reason with a specific explanation or example, and clarify the comparison implied by “best way” to strengthen the argument.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. The progression from housing capacity to community benefits is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Secondly” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, some linking is mechanical, particularly the repeated use of “For instance” and “For Example,” and the opening of the second body paragraph (“it is also believed”) does not clearly identify whose belief is being reported. Some ideas within the first body paragraph are joined without a clear relationship. Use more precise transitions and connect each example explicitly to the point it supports; this would make the organisation feel more flexible and cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “urban population,” “housing problem,” “limited space,” “public transport,” and “community programs,” so the main ideas are understandable. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “social happiness” and “quality of living,” but several expressions are unnatural or imprecise. For example, “a serious demand for urban housing needs” is redundant, and “large tall apartments” is not a natural collocation. Errors in forms such as “apartment's” and “facility's” also affect the accuracy of written vocabulary. To move beyond a basic, repetitive range, choose more precise housing and community terms and check collocations and spelling carefully. The meaning remains clear overall, but these noticeable choices limit fluency and precision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a reason clause (“as large number of people can have a home…”) and a relative clause (“where large number of people stay”). The overall meaning is generally recoverable, but grammatical control is inconsistent, and errors recur across the response. Examples include missing articles in “a serious demand” and “large number of people,” subject–verb disagreement in “Mumbai has” when referring to “cities,” and incorrect plural or possessive forms in “apartment's.” There are also punctuation and spacing problems where sentences run together, such as “needs. Some people” and “problem.People.” Review articles, agreement, plurals, and sentence boundaries, then proofread each sentence. More accurate control of these patterns would make your varied structures easier to read.
