Student answer (Band 6.0)
The provision of housing for common people is a growing issue in major cities, but they have found a solution in building high-rises.The said problem is not specific to any country but instead it is world wide effect due to the urbanization. I strongly agreed with the statement because if we do not build tall apartments, then it will be difficult to provide shelter to everyone.
First of all the preparation of sky scrapper is important to save the land for other activities like agricultural activity, Animal farming, fish farms and sports etc. As we know that many people are moving nowadays, from rural area to urban for new careers in any field and those who already immgrated in search of opportunities in ctites also requires space for living.
Secondly, if we look to the big cities like Mumbai, Beijing , Delhi, New York, Shenghai etc there are no places or less places left for construction of traditional homes but still public is shifting to these areas for empolyement and services. The much needed action is only to rely on these tall buildings, although some critics says that it is against the nature, and it include high risk for natural disasters due to which they oppose it.
In conclusion i would like to say, that i believe the construction of the high apartments had great significant for the community to provide roof. It is the real need of the time to establish and prepare these blocks because the traditional homes is not possible for everyone to buy or construct and also due to lack of space.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly support tall apartment blocks, and the conclusion returns to the need to provide housing where land is limited. You give relevant reasons, especially preserving land for other uses and accommodating people moving to cities, and the examples of Mumbai, Beijing and New York help anchor the discussion. However, some points are asserted rather than explained. For instance, the claim that high-rises save land would be stronger with a brief explanation of how greater housing density reduces the area needed per resident. You also mention critics’ concerns about nature and disaster risks but do not respond to them or clarify how they affect your position. Develop these ideas more fully and support them with specific examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signposted by “First of all” and “Secondly,” and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from land use to housing demand in large cities, so the reader can follow your main argument. Some connections are less clear or feel mechanical, however. The first body paragraph moves from saving land to migration without fully explaining the link, while “although some critics says…” introduces a counterargument that is not developed or answered. Referencing is also occasionally unclear, as in “they have found a solution,” where the identity of “they” is not precise. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and organise the counterargument as a complete point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “urbanization,” “construction,” “opportunities,” and “natural disasters,” which allows you to discuss housing and city growth. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but several are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “preparation of sky scrapper,” “world wide effect,” and “provide roof.” Spelling errors such as “immgrated,” “ctites,” and “empolyement” also reduce precision. Some word choices are vague, including “activities” and “services,” where more specific terms would make the argument clearer. Aim to learn common collocations for housing and urban development, and proofread spelling and word forms so your vocabulary communicates ideas more naturally.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional language in “if we do not build tall apartments” and a concession beginning “although some critics…”. The main meaning is usually understandable, but some grammatical errors affect accuracy. For example, “I strongly agreed” uses an unsuitable tense for stating your current opinion, and “the traditional homes is not possible” has a subject–verb agreement problem. There are also errors in articles, plurals and sentence boundaries, such as the missing space after “high-rises.” and the inconsistent capitalisation in “i.” Work on accurate agreement and verb forms, and check articles and punctuation. More controlled complex sentences would help you express relationships between ideas clearly.
