Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5
You state a clear position—“I competly agree”—and your points about housing, employment, and access to healthcare are relevant to life in large cities. However, the response only minimally develops the argument: it does not explain how tall apartment blocks create more homes or support the claim with a specific example. The opening promises to “discuss both” perspectives, but the essay does not present a counterargument, and the conclusion is missing. The response also falls 102 words short of the required minimum, which leaves too little space to address the question fully. To strengthen your response, explain the benefits of building upwards, develop each reason with details, and ensure the essay covers the task as promised.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0
There is an attempt to organise the response into an introduction and two body paragraphs, and signposts such as “To begin with” and “Furthermore” show an effort to guide the reader. However, progression within the paragraphs is difficult to follow because several ideas are repeated or loosely connected. For example, the first paragraph moves from building apartments to people moving to cities, then says “people make the tall apartment” without explaining the relationship. “Therefore” and “However” are also used where the logical connection is unclear. The essay ends without a concluding paragraph. Use one main point per paragraph, connect each supporting sentence explicitly to it, and add a brief conclusion that restates your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
Your vocabulary includes relevant topic words such as “apartment,” “economy,” “jobs,” and “healthcare,” so the general subject is usually identifiable. However, the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “large cities” and “provide enough home(s).” Some word choices or combinations are unclear, including “the people their furniture move easily,” which makes the intended point difficult to understand. There are also spelling errors such as “eassy,” “prespective,” “competly,” and “helathcare.” Build a more precise set of housing-related expressions and check spelling carefully. For instance, explain whether apartments increase housing capacity or make better use of limited urban land, rather than repeating the general idea of providing homes.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt both simple sentences and longer structures, including “people can move easily in the large cities” and a sentence beginning “However.” Nevertheless, sentence construction is often inaccurate, and these errors sometimes obscure meaning. The opening lacks a clear grammatical structure (“the build tall apartment in the large cities the way”), while “the large cities to build tall apartment is the is the easy way” has problems with word order, articles, and agreement. The second paragraph also contains an incomplete or unclear construction: “people can move in cities they improve the economy.” Punctuation is inconsistent, with a doubled full stop and missing spaces after some full stops. Practise forming complete subject–verb sentences first, then add subordinate clauses and check articles, plurals, and punctuation.
