Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You identify several relevant changes, including the new take-away and coffee-bar rooms, the salad bar, and outdoor seating with a barbecue. However, the description is only partly accurate and the overview is unclear: the opening says the first plan is “after” and the second is “after,” then later corrects this. Some locations are misreported, notably saying the bin and toilets are on the left in the first plan, when they are on the eastern/right side. The final opinion that the new plan is “more worth it” is not an appropriate summary of the main changes. State clearly that the kitchen and toilets remain, while the former staff dining rooms and serving arrangement have been reorganised and outdoor facilities added.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction followed by separate descriptions of the two plans. This gives the reader some sense of sequence, and phrases such as “Now” and “Moreover” attempt to connect points. However, progression is often difficult to follow because the description repeatedly shifts between directions and features, and “Now” is used mechanically. The opening also contradicts itself about which plan is before or after, while references such as “this area” and “this side” are not always clear. Organise the report around an overview and then grouped changes—for example, interior changes, retained facilities, and additions outside—using precise location references and fewer repeated transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some task-relevant labels accurately, including “staff dining rooms,” “tables and chairs,” “take away food,” and “salad bar,” so the reader can recognise several features. However, the vocabulary is limited and repetitive, with frequent reliance on “side,” “room,” “gate,” and “see.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural for a plan description: “entrence gate” should be “entrance,” and “more worth it” does not express a suitable objective comparison. Spelling errors such as “entrence” and “cafe” also reduce precision. Build a more varied set of location and change terms, such as “along the eastern wall,” “was replaced by,” and “was added,” and use the plan’s labels consistently.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You communicate some basic information through simple sentences, but grammatical control is inconsistent and the range of sentence structures is limited. Errors occur frequently in sentence formation and agreement, as in “This after plan change the some setting” and “The two gates is outdoor seating area.” There are also problems with articles, plurals, and verb forms, for example “the right side have two rooms” and “this rooms is staff dining rooms.” Several sentences are joined or punctuated poorly, particularly “barbecue area.In the middle,” which makes the description harder to read. Practise accurate simple clauses first, then combine them with controlled comparisons such as “The staff rooms were replaced by a coffee bar and takeaway area.”
