Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You identify the broad change from the original café to a redeveloped facility, and you correctly note that the toilets and main entrance remain in place and that the former staff dining rooms become a coffee bar and takeaway area. However, the report covers the plans only partially and the overview is unclear: “New room has been added” does not specify the key additions. Several details are inaccurate or incomplete. The original staff rooms each contained four chairs, not six, and the bin was replaced by recycling bins rather than made wider. The response also stops while describing the new layout, omitting the salad bar, outdoor seating and barbecue, which are major changes. Select the main changes and report them accurately, with a clear overview.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic structure: an introduction and overview are followed by descriptions of the original and current layouts. Time markers such as “Firstly” and “Since then” help signal the comparison. However, progression becomes difficult to follow, particularly in the long first-layout sentence that combines the entrance, seating, bin, toilets and staff rooms. Some references are unclear, as in “Toward the original door,” and the final sentence breaks off at “In the mid of the top bottom,” leaving the current-plan description unfinished. Use separate, logically ordered sentences for the north, east and south features, and ensure each paragraph is complete. More precise linking and reference would make the comparison easier to follow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant vocabulary for describing plans, including “floor plans,” “layout,” “redevelopment,” “converted” and “remain,” which helps communicate the general topic. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the description difficult to interpret: “cafe concept,” “preparation food and drink room,” “entrency,” “witnesed” and “renovotion.” Some phrases are also imprecise, such as “the bin became wider,” which misreports the change to recycling bins. Aim for accurate labels from the plan and natural collocations for changes and locations. Proofreading spelling and choosing specific terms such as “serving counter” or “outdoor seating area” would improve clarity.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, and the use of “while” and “Since then” shows some effort to connect ideas across time. However, errors are frequent, and complex sentences are often difficult to control. For example, “it's actually looks” has an incorrect verb form, while “New room has been added” is missing an article. There are also agreement and sentence-construction problems in “two staff dining room was converted” and “at the bottom right corner their is a toilets.” The long sentence beginning “The main entrance and exit doors…” contains a comma splice and unclear clause structure. Practise accurate articles, plural agreement and complete sentence boundaries, then use shorter sentences to describe each area.
