Task Achievement / Task Response — Band 6.5

You have successfully identified the main features of the cafe redesign, such as the transition from a single counter to four specialized ones and the addition of the outdoor seating area. You also correctly noted the unchanged areas. However, the response lacks a clear overview that synthesizes the most significant changes. While you mention the cafe looks more modern, a more detailed summary of the spatial transformation would improve the score. The description of the changes is generally accurate, but the report could be enhanced by using more precise comparative language to highlight the scale of the modifications.

Coherence and Cohesion — Band 6.5

The response is organized into logical sections, moving from the general layout to specific details like the counters and the outdoor area. However, the paragraphing is somewhat disjointed, and the use of cohesive devices is occasionally mechanical or repetitive (e.g., starting sentences with 'Before restructure' or 'But'). Some transitions between ideas feel abrupt, which affects the flow. To reach a higher band, focus on using a wider variety of linking words and ensuring that each paragraph has a clear, unified focus, rather than listing features in a somewhat fragmented manner.

Lexical Resource — Band 6.5

You demonstrate an adequate range of vocabulary for the task, using terms like 'remodelled', 'amenities', and 'reconstruction'. However, there are several instances of awkward phrasing and word choice errors, such as 'self efficiency' (likely meaning 'self-service' or 'efficiency') and 'remind the same' (should be 'remained'). There are also minor spelling errors like 'bae' instead of 'bar'. While these errors do not impede communication, they limit the precision of your writing. Expanding your vocabulary to include more specific descriptors for spatial changes would be beneficial.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy — Band 6.0

You use a mix of simple and complex sentence structures, but there are frequent grammatical errors throughout the text. Examples include subject-verb agreement issues ('the renovation make', 'four counter which serves'), missing articles ('a take away bar'), and punctuation errors. While the meaning remains clear, these persistent errors prevent the writing from reaching a higher band. To improve, pay closer attention to pluralization, verb tense consistency (ensuring you consistently use the past tense for the 'before' state), and the correct use of articles when describing the various areas of the cafe.
